When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

Any idea on when this post will be updated to when will it be busy in 2010?

We are thinking of going November 21-23 (the Saturday through Monday before Thanksgiving).

How busy will it be?

I was just there this morning, and it was not very busy. Maybe it's too hot for people.

I was there Sunday Aug 30th and it was dead. 15min wait for grizzly rapids at noon and everything was like less than 30 minutes. It was SO HOT, so that is probably why. D-land was busier because splash had a 45 min wait but most other rides were 5-10 min.

That is the weekend. Weekends are crowded. Hope for rain.
Monday might be light. There are schools get that whole week off. Not many, but they're in places that people really want to get away from. And they come to DL.

If it gets smokey, many people stay indoors. I recall going there one March (Chino Hills?), and the flakes of ash were not anyone's idea of snow.

Maybe my previous post got lost in the shuffle, but can anyone tell me if September 24 & 25 (Thursday & Friday) will be busy? I know Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion are scheduled to open with their holiday overlays on the 25th. Will that make the entire park busy all day or just in the afternoon/evening? I expect long lines for those attractions, but will that bleed over to the rest of the park? Does anyone know that if these overlays are scheduled to open the 25th if they'll open first thing in the morning or is it typically later in the evening?

We went Sunday - Tuesday of last year, which is when our APs started. The last day we can use them is Monday, so we are trying to get one last trip in.

I am not crazy about getting there on a Saturday, but are choices are limited if we are driving 7 hours to get there.

Last year, Sunday was not bad but Monday was pretty crowded. Oddly, Tuesday of last year was less crowded than Monday.

I'm going on Wednesday. I expect the Labor Day Holiday weekend crowd to be long gone by then.

Thursday should be good but Friday being the opening of Ghost Galaxy and Haunted mansion Holiday you can expect those rides to be busy. The park is open late so you can expect overall to be somewhat busy in the afternoon and evenings. My past experience is the park is always busy on a Friday night.

Cool! Thanks! Our plan was to get most of the stuff done on Thursday, even though its a shorter day I was hoping the crowds would be somewhat light. As long as we can get a couple of rides each on the two holiday rides it'll be good.
