The real question is, when will it not be busy.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

so... everyone told me I was wrong when I said that saturday would probably be the best day to head to the parks. Many told me that the crowds would be insane, and that sunday or monday would probably be the better day to go.

Saturday was blocked out to So-Cal passes and the hours were 9-11.
Sunday was not blocked out and the hours were 8-12.

It was a real no-brainer for me.

Anyhow. I went on saturday, and I must say I'm glad that I decided to go on saturday.

The park was very uncrowded. The longest wait I saw all day was 55 minutes for space. I only waited 25 minutes for the subs.

Adventureland was a bit difficult to navigate at times, but other than that, my day at the park was GREAT!

I'll be back in a year disneyland!

It will be all those days when we don't say it will be busy.
In short:
All weekdays off-season, without some very large, family-friendly convention or competition in Anaheim.

And, that's pretty much it.

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

hello,
I am totally new at this, so i'd appreciate some help.

We are going to disneyland on february 10,11,12, and 13. That's tuesday-friday. President's day is on monday the 16th, so we will be long gone by then. Is this a good time to visit? Will the crowds be relatively small.

My family and i went a couple of years ago in february and we didn't have to wiat very long for any of the rides. is this still true? No major conventions seem to be going on either.

thanks!

Sounds like a plan since February is the off season and the park closes early. Not many guest will show up during Tues to Thursday especially in the mornings. Fastpasses will aslo help your trip be better. It would be a good plan to ride Peter Pan or Toy Story Midway Mania first thing in the morning. Remember that Fantasmic! will be showing at 7:30 on Tues to Thurs. The only day that would be busy would be Friday.

thanks! if that is the case, i may just save universal studios for friday. we were going to go to US first and then spend the rest of the week at disney, but it would probably be safer to go to universal last because no matter how busy they get, they only have about eight attractions and my boyfriend is DYING to go on the simpsons ride.

I wonder what day will be the worst because of this? August is traditionally the most-births month, due to shenanigans of the holiday season combined with "nothing else to do on a cold night" excuse.

I think families with twins and triplets will make out like bandits on this promo. Everyone else just gets 50%, 33%, 25%, etc., off their total admission. (Not including those who would simply go alone, as I might.)
Oh, and every AP'er (600,000+) gets a gift card if they show up on their birthday (assuming it's not blocked out, as mine would be, mid-July, if I had an AP).

Might be interesting to meet complete strangers with the same birthday at DL. Hmm...

Re: When Will it Be Busy at Disneyland - 2009 Edition

It looks like I am going the 7th-11th of March (being in the park the 8th-10th). Good or did I make a huge mistake in choosing days???

Picking days within your vacation is a good idea.
Sun/Mon/Tues in off-season. Should be fine. Sunday will be busy, maybe a 5 or 6 (on my chart). I don't think Spring Break will be an issue. Mon/Tues will be 2 or 3.

It's gonna be busy 9/9/09. It's being reported that the Haunted mansion 40th anniversary event tickets were snapped up in minutes. Bad economy? Where?

Well, they weren't selling that many. "Several hundred." So, several hundred more people will descend on the parks on a Wednesday in off-season?
I think not.
