When I first decided to visit Disneyland during the early part of December, I entertained the idea of quietly slipping into town and not telling anyone. After all, there would be enough "Holiday Stuff" to keep me busy for three full days, and part of the other two. I figured a Monday through Friday visit would get it done.

No need to fuss. No need to meet MiceChatters. Was I wrong! Am I glad that I changed my mind!

I Just spent 5 nights at the Candy Cane Inn on Harbor Blvd, in Anaheim. A short walk from Disneyland. I have stayed there before, and I really enjoyed it, so I booked it again.

My objective: To meet up with as many MiceChatters as possible, and enjoy as much of the "Holiday Stuff" as I could fit into my 5 days in the park.

I arrived at John Wayne Airport at about 2 p.m. and got to the hotel just about check in time. I was hungry, so I had dinner at Tony Roma's which is across the street from the Candy Cane Inn. If you have never eaten ther, try it. It is really good.

When I finished dinner, I was off to Disneyland. It is the first time that I arrived, on my first day, in the evening.

Usually on my first day at Disneyland, I ride the train around the park. I did that on this trip as well. It was really dark when I arrived, and Town Square was crowded with people, They were waiting for the lighting of the castle, and the tree. I watched them turn the beautiful tree from the normal lighting to the special blue lighting. It was amazing.

I remember when I was planning my trip. I really wanted to see IASW - the holiday version. I really wanted to see Haunted Mansion as well in it's holiday mode. Then there was the new Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough. I managed to do all three of these things on my first night.

I remember when Kritter and Dan announced that they wanted to meet people on their birthday. I noticed that it was going to be a day when I was at the park. I thought that it would be fun to meet them at the Tea Cups, and we could at least have a ride. I picked the tea cups, because I like that ride a lot. Also, it is usually easier to get on that ride, than some others. Well they went for that idea, and we met at the ride. It was actually Barry, Nico, Dan and I spinning on the tea cups. I wish that I had taken more photos.

Before I left Chicago, I had programed the phone number of MiceChatter, disneyfan_87, into my phone. Her name is Jana. I figured that I would call her mid morning on Thursday, and we could meet up. The many times we posted on MiceChat, she seemed very nice. She was visiting Disneyland with her husband.

We met up just before the Bill Hill and the Hillbillies Show. She is a super girl, and her husband was very nice. That's her on the bottom right of this collage.

I really enjoyed the holiday version of the Bill Hill and the Hillbilles SHow. It was very funny. Barry, Kritter, Dan and I had lunch there. I love the fish and chips there. After lunch, we hung out with Jana and her husband for a bit. We rode Haunted Mansion again. That ride is just awesome. I actually rode it about 4 times on my trip.

I have been a member of MiceChat for a very long time. Almost from the beginning. Some MiceChatters have become extra special to me. A trip to Anaheim just wouldn't seem the same, if I didn't get to spend sometime with Barry.

Friday was the day that I decided to visit DCA. I woke up early that day, and had breakfast in a place called Millie's on Harbor Blvd. I spent two hours in Disneyland, and managed to ride my two favorite rides in Tomorrowland. They are Star Tours, and Buzz Lightyear. I then visited Pixie Hollow. I was definitely impressed.

I headed over to DCA, to meet Purple Dove. Her name is Margo, and she is one special lady. We spent the entire rest of Friday together. Margo has an Annual Pass, and she really gave me the grand tour.

Margo and I left DCA after we watched the new Pixar Parade. I really liked that a lot. It was a lot of fun. It was about this time that I began to get a very scratchy voice. I figured, that all the talking that I had done that day, was probably the reason that I was losing my voice. Margo and I arrived in Disneyland just before the beginning of the 6:30 parade. SInce she is in a wheelchair, she is able to watch it in a special spot in Town Square. It was a great viewing spot, just across from the Hat Shop.

Right before I left DCA, I received a phone call from, The Dark Lady, and we arranged to meet up. When I saw the crowd in Town Square, I really worried that our plan would go haywire. It didn't. We met, just after the parade was over. She was in the park with her brother. We only spoke briefly, and snapped the photos, that you see here. Yes, Ashley, she is really awesome in person.

I had told Margo earlier in the day that if she saw any MiceChatters, she should holler out to them. Well she did. She ran into Scurvy Pirate, by the Rivers of America. We visited with him and his family for a while, and then we were off to view Fantasmic.
