A neat Disneyland gift I received

At the comic book store I work at we have regular customers who subscribe to titles that we pull and hold for them. One of them came in last week and left a gift for me. They were cleaning out some drawers and she found this really neat bracelet from Disneyland. It has a metal book charm hanging from the chain. It has a pearl cover and back cover. The front of the cover is a brass icon of the Disneyland Castle and when you open the book a whole string of very small black and white pictures unfolds. The photos look like the are in the 1950's shortly after the Park opened. It was on the original card as well. Here are some pictures I took. Sorry they are blurry but I can't get the hang of making that close up thing work.

    The book, chain and card.

    The photos stream.

A close up of the photos. I know it's blurry but it gives you some idea of what the photos look like. Each one is only about an inch by a half inch. They are really small, but very sharp clarity.

I was just wondering if anyone here knows anything about this. Maybe I should send these pictures to Dave Smith at the archives and see if he knows anything. There is a copyright in the lower left corner for The Disney Coporation and it done say Disneyland on the card as well. It's in perfect condition and was in a plastic bag to protect it.

I'm afraid I know nothing about it, but boy, is that pretty! Looks like it'd be worth quite a bit, not that I'm implying you should sell it. I'd definitely hold on to something as lovely as that.

Yeah, even if it's worth something, i'd put in a frame or a display case.

You must be special to your customer. That kind of thing doesn't happen to us Disney geeks every day! Cherish it...it seems to be a wonderful item from days gone by and from the heart of a grateful customer where you work!

Oh wow! That's gorgeous. That's really sweet that they gave it to you!
For certain you must be lost to find the places that can't be found. Elseways, everyone would know where it was.

Thanks for the kind words. She is a neat lady and also helped me find a Bluetooth earpiece that doesn't have earbuds as they won't fit in my ear. She is really nice and we always talk when she comes in if I am there. This was a real surprise.

Does anybody know how to get help from Dave Smith? Since the Disney Magazine is gone I don't know where to write or email stuff to him anymore.

If you get the Disney Insider emails Dave has a column which has a place where you can ask/submit to him questions.
