I took Leah to Disneyland on the premise that we had won a "contest" to have a special lunch at the Blue Bayou. In reality, we had
reservations at Club 33. When we showed up at Club 33, she was completely surprised. We had a delicious and memorable lunch. It was a once in a lifetime experience that we will always remember.
We finished lunch around 4:30 and I wanted to make my way to the Grand Californian hotel where I had things setup for the proposal. Well it turns out she had a friend at Disneyland that day and she wanted to meet up with her. I was a little worried because we had to be at the Grand Californian before 5 so I didn't miss the pianist there. Fortunately I was able to convince everyone to go check out the Grand Californian all decorated for Christmas. While we were walking there I privately let her friend's husband know my plan so they both could give us some time alone. They left to do some “shopping”.
As we were walking into the Hotel, I texted my cousin who was standing by to let him know we were walking into the hotel. That way he could have the pianist start with the songs I wanted during the proposal. She loves Phil Collins so I had to make sure “You’ll Be in My Heart” was one of the songs.
The song list was:
Bella Notte
You’ll Be in My Heart
Winter Wonderland
The pianist suggested a couple extra songs as filler so it didn’t end too quickly. He ended up playing “Someday my Prince Will Come” and “Tale as Old as Time” before going into the original song list. Cheesy, yes, but it's one of the times that it felt right to me.
Then we walked by the Christmas tree in the lobby and I slowly made our way to the present under the tree. Once we got to the spot I told her to look at the presents as one of them is for her. When I told her that she became very confused but delighted when she found Eeyore inside the box.

After some hugs, I took her hand and told her I had one more present for her. I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes.

It was an amazing moment with so many emotions flowing.

Afterwards we got together with my family and friends that were there helping me out. We all took some pictures together and shared a drink. Then I told Leah how tonight we were spending the night here and staying at the hotel.
After dinner at Roy’s at the new Anaheim Gardenwalk, we got back to our hotel room and Leah saw how they had setup some roses and sparkling cider (we both don’t drink).
Everything went so well and will be a wonderful lifelong memory for the both of us. It was a moment that I was nervously looking forward to and a moment that I hope she will never forget.
As a bonus, we were told by the floor manager that we're the first proposal at the Grand Californian!
Here are the rest of the pics. :)
