    California Screamin' Name Change

Who agrees? I think it's a bit cheap and still reflects the same cheap puns of DCA 1.0.

Something that can be found at a Victorian Amusement park and not a pun of a Beach Boys song, which is what DCA is based on.

Somewhere in the same facinity of:

    Cyclone
    The Flyer
    Twister
    Big Dipper
    Lightning
    Comet
    The Rocket

    Something classy.

The name is perfect... plus keep in mind its supposed to be part of a Disney-esque beachside boardwalk [Disney's take on old cheesy Boardwalks on the beaches of California some of the stuff is meant to be kinda cheesy in name because a lot of stuff in real life boardwalks had cheesy or weird names]

Wooden Roller Coasters on old boardwalks used to have some type of Pun to their name [such as The Giant Dipper, The Cyclone, The Pike, etc]... Plus even though its steel, its made to look like a cleaner and more pristine Disney version of the old wooden seaside roller coaster!

California Screamin fits... it fits the theme of DCA perfectly and still has a cool enough name to fit a boardwalk theme [think of the song California Dreamin... you just replace the D with an S and you have a name that reminds you of that Beach Boys song and if you think of surf music... it fits the beach theme and fits perfectly]

Wouldn't that actually be in reference to California Dreamin' by the 'Mamas and the Papas?'

Well, considering the song didn't exist until the 60's, it doesn't really fit for the Victorian-era retheme. I say change it when/if they add/change a little theming on the coaster. But I'd like to see something old-timey and more creative (of course I can't think of any good names!).

    Something classy.

The Big Dipper has already been done.

I'm still waiting to see the "Something classy" part of the list...

My vote goes to keep it California Screamin', or as we just call it...Screamin'.

So my guess is that you believe California Screamin' is classy?

I dont think that the name will feel right with an elegant Victorian queue and a name like California Screamin

    To define it...

Names for attractions and stores in Paradise Pier that remind you of something else related to California... so many puns in Paradise pier... some of them were taken out though and personally I am glad some are no longer there. But I like California Screamin as far as names go! Who knows... maybe it may change someday you never know... one thing I did notice is in that model at the blue sky cellar there was an enclosure of the queue for Screamin... I hope that becomes a reality... the outdoor switchbacks do fit the boardwalk coaster theme but enclosed would be nicer! Anyhow for puns I could think of off the top of my head!

Catch a Flave [Catch a wave... a surf song]
    California Screamin [California Dreamin]
Malibu-ritos [burritos obviously but hinting at Malibu *extinct*]
    Souvenier 66 [Route 66]
    Mulholland Madness [Mulholland dr.]
Maliboomer [again hinting at Malibu in the name]
Man-Hat-an *something* [I forget the name] [obviously hinting at Manhattan Beach]
The midway games each have some type of pun to their name... havent played them but I recall one about Angels in the outfield [hinting at Anaheim Angels], The milk toss one [hinting at the Caughenga pass], etc
Muscle Tees [hinting at Muscle Beach... if I remember correctly Venice Beach maybe???]

anyone know of any other ones?
