New Year's Eve 2009 Video, and Photos!

Watch as we rang in 2009 at Disneyland!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zas_iBgREHM

Sit yourself down right in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle and watch the last few seconds of 2008 being counted down, and then the arrival of 2009 celebrated in true Disneyland style! (Even though the fog had other ideas. )

Re: New Year's Eve 2009 Video!

The fireworks sounded cool, i was wondering if you could see anything in front of the castle... we were at the end of mainstreet and couldnt see anything... people started leaving as soon as they figured out they couldnt see anything....

Cool! Thanks for posting; I really wish I'd of been there. My parents wanted to leave sooo badly because it was super croweded in their opinion, and they couldn't take it. However, I did eventually hearthem from our hotel balcony.

You literally couldn't see the the fireworks, you only coul hear them. The fireworks that were seen were the ones shot from the castle.

Re: New Year's Eve 2009 Video!

Cool vid, now I get to see them from the right direction!
I'll have a Video report up soon featuring the fireworks show filmed from right underneath where they were launched from, at least they sounded good!

Re: New Year's Eve 2009 Video!

That was pretty awesome. I was in Cypress at midnight at a party and I couldn't even see the Knott's Berry Farm fireworks, but I could hear them and those of Disneyland. Also, if I can remember, I think that the presentation (not so the fireworks because you can't see them) was better than the 50th anniversary New Year's Eve Party countdown. But I could be wrong and I did watch the 2005-2006 NYE fireworks in front of "It's A Small World," so it was probably better in the hub than in Fantasyland.

Re: New Year's Eve 2009 Video!

Thanks for posting this video! A shame the fog put a damper on the fireworks. I did see from outside of Disneyland how they had the Christmas tree doing all kinds of stuff with the LED lights. That looked pretty cool. Maybe someone will have some video of that later..

Re: New Year's Eve 2009 Video!

Great video, even tho you couldn't see the fireworks the lighting in front of the castle and the castle it self seemed to have done the job pretty well, it looked awesome.

Re: New Year's Eve 2009 Video!

Thanks for sharing that video, PM! How bizzare to hear those shells and to not be able to see them. The castle looked great though. I don't think I've been to the park yet in thick fog. Glad you had a great time in spite of it.

Seems a lot of times Disney runs on their own clock. They will start the countdown a bit late of the "exact time" and so the fireworks go off 10 or 15 seconds late. No biggie though.. It can be hard to start a major fireworks show on the exact time.
