Hey everybody, just thought I'd like to share my adventures at the Disneyland Resort on New Year's Eve with you all. There's a few videos highlighting the exciting parts thrown in for free, so enjoy!
So I ended up having to work Dec. 31 all day long and that really had me bummed me out. Luckily, I got off early and I still had plenty of time to make plans for the night.
I get home to find out that my parents along with most of my family had taken off to Palm Springs earlier in the day and they somehow figured it was ok not to tell me anything....
So I'm like whatever, SWEET now I've got an empty house on New Year's Eve.....Let's Party it UP! I get on the phone to tell all mah peeps what's up and after a while, I realize that everyone I'm talking to either has way cooler things happening already, is having fun in some exotic locale, or is currently grounded for being an idiot!
So at this point I'm likeand I feel like just vegging out at home for the rest of the night. Then I remember Dan-Tasmic saying on here that he would be camping out all night in front of the castle and he was looking for company. I had never been to Disneyland on NYE before so i thought "Y'know, that doesn't sound like such a bad idea." Next thing I know, I'm on my way to the magic kingdom to take in one of the best fireworks shows around.....or so I thought
.
He had already warned me before I left at around 6:00 that the park was getting dangerously crowded. With that in mind, I park in Downtown Disney (15 freakin' dollars, by the way!) and head toward the esplanade. Passing through Adventureland-like crowds in DtD, I already get the feeling that this was gonna be one crazy night.
I finally make it to the ticket booths and, long story short: super heavy crowds + blockout ticket complications + New Year's Eve Insanity = No Disneyland for me. Sorry Dan!
I decided to make the best of a bad situation so I went back to my truck, got my camera, and decided to make a fun little trip report without going into the parks at all!
First we have a nice little tour of the entire Downtown Disney District featuring a few of the many talented live performers lining the streets:
P.S. Do yourselves a favor and actually click the videos to go to the main page and watch in high quality, trust me.

Next is a look at the back half of Believe in Holiday Magic as seen from almost directly below the launch site!:

Now it's getting close to 10 or 10:30 and in come those billowing blankets of fog you've been hearing about. Take a look at some of Downtown Disney and the esplanade dressed up as if they were taking part in Halloween Haunt. CREEPY!:

Last, but unfortunately least is the ill-fated New Year's Eve fireworks spectacular shot from Ball Rd. at the cast member entrance to backstage. There really isn't a whole lot to see other than the sky briefly turning back into daytime, but its one helluva light show! Stick around till the end because it gets pretty intense, it's just too bad you can't see any of it:

Well, I ended up having quite a lot of fun on my, admittedly unorthodox, New Year's Eve and I hope you enjoyed my little report!
HAPPY (late) NEW YEAR'S!!!![]()
