    Your favorite memory of POD

Send we all know now that POD isn't coming back to Disneyland this year I though it be a good idea. If who ever had like it what was your favorite part about it.

For me I would say it was the one time when I was on Main Street in front of the Empolum store and I was sitting down watching it when Alice's float stop where I was at and when she saw me singing to the Welcome song. She came over to me and told me to clap my hands. I was so much into the song that when Alice came back to me after she did her dance she told me again I told you to clap. She then would take my hands and start clapping them herself. So what is some of your favorite monets of Parade Of Dreams?

I've been a lion king fan since I was born, practically..ok so I was born a year before it came out, but you get the point. It's been a very special, and symbolic part of my life. I went to Disneyland for my birthday, the year POD started, it was my first time seeing the parade. The lion king part stopped right in front of where I was standing during the time they stop and dance and such. Everything was RIGHT THERE, literally right dead center in front of me, it really made my trip that much more special.

Not a specific memory of viewing it, but I shall miss and always enjoyed the marionette performer women on the front of the Pinnochio float. I enjoy creepy/living dolls in general heh, and they were very talented always and a great concept and bit of design for the float and performer integration.

My. Favorite. Memory. Ever. It is when I was still working at DL and I was doing GC. It was around the time when they were remodeling the Prince and Princess Restrooms to become King and Queen. Well, anyways, portion of the area was walled off and I was position in an area all by myself where we like to call Pan Tech, it is outside the Pan Shop, where they maintainence all the ships of Peter Pan. I was all along when the Ariel Float came by, Ariel talked to me and commented that she liked my sunglasses on my head. Next, Ursula Float came by and I made a funny face and sticked out my tongue at one of the Pearl Girls and she reacted by sticking her tongue back at me. Lastly, the Caslte Float came by and I gave a high five, or four, to Pluto in my Mickey Gloves.

Also, before the POD, I would always dance before the parade arrived. It's a way to get the guests ready and pumped up for the parade. See my video below in my sig.

Re: Your favorite memory of POD

When POD first premiered, my whole family fell in love with the parade. My kids would always dance and sing during the "show stoppers". I decided to make my kids gold banners to dance during the show stoppers. The Disneyland Characters loved the fact that my kids could do the moves with them. One time my youngest daughter (at the time) was wearing her Snow White costume, and during the POD, th dwarfs made a big deal about her and danced with her...She felt like she was part of the parade. I know that POD has been around for awhile, but I really liked it!

Never seen it, but one time we were coming back to Disneyland after an afternoon at CA Adventure and remembered it was going on so we took the Monorail back to Tomorrowland and completely avoided having the deal with the parade crowds. That was pretty nice.

Re: Your favorite memory of POD

I LOOOVED the Parade of Dreams. I have many great memories of it. I saw it the weekend of the actual 50th Anniversary, back in July of 2005. I've seen it probably 25+ more times since then but everytime I love it just the same. One particular moment that stood out for me was when I saw it back in August (actually I think it was the last time I saw it) and my friends and I were sitting near Small World. When it was time for the show stop, we were sort of posititioned as to where we could basically see all the floats down the parade route during the show stop. So we pretty much got to watch them all going at the same time. It was amazing. My friend and I even teared up. I'll never forget that parade. My favorite lyrics were always "Remembering good times together, with someone dear to your heart..." It always would make me think of all the amazing times I had at Disneyland with my family and friends. Goodbye Parade of Dreams I will miss you

"Welcome" is by far the best memory I'll get out of POD, seeing as I only saw it once.

POD was a wonderful parade. It was great visually and added magic with the floats. I am glad to see it go though. It is time for something new.

I will miss Jiminy the most for obvious reasons.

    ^^ Ugh.

Pink Flower and Red Flower. Two amazing people who made the parade experience a million times better for me, and everyone who watched the parade with me.
I actually ran into Red Flower on Friday before the Christmas Parade. He was telling me how much he misses the jumping and everything.

My favorite memory comes from working guest control.

I was positioned at the Hub near the Partners statue. The show stop for the Wonderland float had just ended and the Marching Card (5 of Hearts) walked by me, holding out her hand. I figured 'oh she's saying hi, we'll just grab hands briefly and she'll continue on.'

But the moment she grabbed my hand, she started pulling. Suddenly she turns and grabs me with both hands, trying to pull me out into the street, yelling "COME TO WONDERLAND! WE HAVE ALL THE ROSES YOU CAN PAINT!!!" Heather, doing guest control with me, rushes behind me and starts pulling me the other way. So I'm being pulled both ways yelling "HELP! HELP!" Hundreds of people all around were staring at us. O_o

So Heather won out in the end and yanked me back onto the brick walkway and the Marching Card just sticks her tongue out at me. Then she was promply smacked by the Queen of Hearts. XD

But I don't want to go among MAD people!

I wish I had an experience like that doing GC. That was awesome!!!!

Also, it wasn't a favorite memory, it's kind of funny when things don't go well, but one time when the Alive Float passed by in front of the Matternhorn when it suddenly stopped and it did not move for a good 5 - 10 mintutes while the other half of the parade continued on. While not in motion, The Mad Hatter improvised and told everyone to "shake hands." Then, they brought out the tractor to towed it the remainer of the parade.

Re: Your favorite memory of POD

I have another favorite it was back in 2007 with Alice. In fact I think it was the same year now thinking about it when Alice wanted me to clap for her. Well anyways I had just came in to Disneyland for a half a day which was around the 6pm time. I was on Main Street again on the side where the lockers are at. Anyways when Alice's float came by she saw me and was pointing at me and blowing kisses at me at first I wasn't sure if it was me she was looking at or the little girls in front of me. So when she did that I had pointed at myself asking for me. She shook her head yes and kept blowing kisses at me. I was in complet shock on it. It was the time when Alice wasn't really a favorite Disney character of my. I know I have more and well get to them soon.
