    Urban Legends

Okay so I know thers's been alot of urban legends about Disneyland. Am I right? So I only now the truth about three. And I know some from personel experience.

Legend ONE: There is quit a bit of mystery to this one here it is. In the late 50's and early 60's there haver been reports of preteen boys swimming to Tom Sawyers I'sland at nightime and some of them drowning in the murkey water. When they asked Disney about this they had no clue what they were talking about. Some say they hid the bodies possibly in POT because the ride was being built at the time. Okay as far as evidence goes this Legend is...

    FALSE

...because they're was no evidence and this legend came from back in 1955 after disneyland opened Tom swyers Island didn't belong to Tom Sawyer! It was just an empty Island with dirt and tree's. Local Boy scouts once used the Island and rivers of America as a practice area for practicing water rescue's recreation area. If you have Disneyland: Then Now and Forever you'll find a picture of the scouts on the island.

That's it for now forgve my typo's and I know it wasn't called boy scouts it was called explorer scouts or somethin. But u get the idea! I'll have more later! I get these story's from my grandp's whose been workin there for like 40 years and now works at TDA. I'll have more later. Do u guys have an urban legends and the adding a loop to space mountain dosn't count!

Just for some claifaction i'm not talking about the boys who stayed at the settlers cabin after Tom Sawyers Island closed and one of the two brothers died from drowning after he attempted to swim with his liitle brother on his back. The little brother survived after a cast member saw him struggling and paddling in the RoA.

I was there (I think it was them) and they were singing 'Sweet Escape' and me and my friends knew all the words, and they let us sing up there with them. It was so cool!~

    Re: Urban Legends

Most urban legends are derived from some sort of truth. For example "Walt's body is frozen under the Matterhorn and kept cold by circulating water from the sub lagoon over and that's why they couldn't get of the lagoon." The truth is it isn't his body it's only his head. Seriously though if you want to read more on things on Disney urban legends go check out the site chadb14 mentioned which is:
    snopes.com: Declared Deaths at Disneyland
Stalking is when two people go for a long romantic walk together but only one of them knows about it.
