Hey Micechat, I Need Your Help!

This has been updated after suggestions, so please watch it again! -12:30am January 6th

Well, I'm back with yet another update to my Indy project. I've been working on the rolling ball chamber recently, tweaking the lighting and timing, and I'd like to see what you guys think! I can't tell how it looks to a "normal" person, because the backing up effect no longer tricks me, even when I ride the actual ride. So, I need your help!

Here's the most recent of the rolling ball chamber.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http:...e=channel_pageAnd here is the whole ride so far. Please note that the update rolling ball chamber is not in this video, and the lights in the chamber of Destiny were being problematic. But take note of the Hall of Promise!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http:...e=channel_pageThanks for your help!

Very impressive. I like the rolling ball chamber, I think you come a little too close to the boulder. As you mentioned, the lighting is very dark in the ride thru video. Can't wait to see the finished product, the sound is perfect.

Sean, doesn't the wall (or the car... For those who don't know the effect) keep moving just to the point where you head downward? I don't think it stops that far ahead.

    EDIT: To your first video.

Well, it depends how you look at it. Technically yes, visually no. As the room is decelerating, the car begins to move forward slowly, roughly at the same speed of the room. So, you feel like your standing still. In fact, I'm making a video right now from an outsiders view of the entire effect.

Last night was the way I saw this. Near the end of the night, the moving room stopped operating. All of the other parts were working, just not the room. Right before it dives down, the car was moving forward slowly.

Its really hard to explain, so I'll get the other video posted.

Looks pretty accurate to me - great work as usual! The accelerations and decelerations are rather jerky, but I suspect you can't do anything about that.

Haha, I knew someone would say something about that. I'm still working on them to an extent, because it is possible to make it a bit smoother, or at least I hope so.

Alright, here's the same render but a different perspective and no lighting/shadows (or rather 'fullbright')

So that's why it feels like the floor literally collapses under you while you're not moving... neat!
