New Firework Show to Debut MLK Day Weekend?

According the ScreamScape, there is a new firework show to debut this year around Martin Luther King Day.

"The latest rumors claim that a brand new fireworks show may be on the way, possibly to start later this month around the Martin Luther King holiday weekend."

I did not even know a new firework show was in the works haha.

hmm.. I guess if we notice some testing going on before that weekend we'll know for sure I suppose.

It has to be better than RDCT.
    Everybody's got a laughin' place-
trouble is most folks won't take the time to go look for it.

If they have to get rid of the RDCT fireworks show, I hope the new show is a billion times better. I LOVE the current fireworks show.

I'm just up for something new. I don't care if it's not as big as RDCT but just something new until the 55th. and I'll be happy. Now the only leftover from the 50th we have to get rid of is in the Opera House!!

It's entirely possible. Unlike other shows that require rehearsals and auditions weeks in advance, a new firework show could have been conceived and designed entirely behind the scenes without any information leaking out from a small circle of directors.

Something very similar happened when Believe was replaced back in 2004 with the uh.... heck I can't even remember the name of it. It was a really low key firework show using the Share a Dream Come True parade music from Florida. When that show replaced believe no one had any idea it was happening until it was too late to see the last Believe.

Honestly, I think they should let us give RDCT a proper farewell should it be replaced. It's such an amazing show and I don't want to see it go without a proper goodbye.

RDCT is a fantastic show and will go down in Disneyland history. But it's time they push the boundaries of what a pyro show can be by creating new ones. When Believe came around I thought it would be nearly impossible to top it, but they did. Now I can't wait to see what's next!!

I think it was Imagine... A Fantasy in the Sky. It was pretty much a filler show, between Believe and Remember, with a mix of different themes from a handful of feature films rounded off with the theme from Share a Dreams Come True. I believe it was the show that premiered the new pneumatic launching systems created by Disney that was later fully used for Remember.

Well, they sure didn't do that for Parade of Dreams so I don't hold out much hope for a proper good-bye to Remember. (And this is the same company that owns ABC and that is not giving us a proper good-bye to Pushing Daisies ... but then you can read my rants on that one under TV in Entertainment)

They have been practicing and working on a new fireworks show for the past few months....so it's not THAT sudden. But I'm not sure the official launch date..but anything is possible.
