    Talking Ghettoland

I'm sure your aware of this ghetto copy cat Disneyland clone but her's a vid I found of the now long gone park! It's the ghetto version o Disneyland in Nara Japan. I admit that the video dosn't have the best hosts or music but if you can't look at that at least check out the photo's.

Nara Dreamland has been closed for a few years, now. Haven't heard what they have done with the closed park, though.

I know its been closed but for those micechatters who don't know about what it was I just thought I'd show them what used to be.

I love watching that park and seeing how bizarre it all seems.

Haha, there was a thread started on this a couple months ago, but it's always fun to look at the pictures and videos of this place and do a nice *facepalm*.

I remember reading their review with pictures and then after seeing the video now. I was amazed that they were really the only paying guests in the park, the rides operated safely and notice the background music (not the pop-rock video, but of the park).

And i agree, its ghetto. If a city and or country wants Disney to build them a park, copy them and they will come. That's what they say the reason why Tokyo Disneyland was created.

The guy who did that video and the reviews, Robb Alvey, is actually a member on these boards. Here are his Asian theme park trip reports.

Yup, it seems like every 6 months or so someone posts a thread about Nara. Nothing beats the Screw Coaster.

    Re: Ghettoland

Something that a lot of people don't know, that I found quite surprising about Nara Dreamland, is that it opened in 1960. Only 5 years after the real Disneyland opened. And Walt Disney knew about it the whole time and did nothing.
