We have already. It's bad, but it could have been wor--...no, it couldn't have been worse if they tried. Though I have a low opinion of Eddie Murphy (why cast him in anything funny ever? he isn't an actor, he just plays himself) with the exception of his role in Bowfinger because the celebrity character is just him as himself. I digress though...hopefully they will remake the movie in 20 years with a stronger plot and a better cast.

Pretty elaborate.
The video podcast is really cool. I also did some artwork for the podcast, so I am a bit biased. I feel it raises the bar of what a fan video podcast can do. I am looking forward to seeing what else Mr. Hurd will show us in the future.

Artist/Sculptor Ruben did a great convention sketch of one of the Hitchhiking Ghosts. You have to scroll down to see it: Masked Avenger Studios: Back from Calgary! I think Disney should get him to do some Mansion merchandise in the future (2D art that is, he all ready works on sculptures).

Maybe this will take some of the bad taste of Eddy Murphy from our mouths.

I always hoped it would be like a Tim Burton film. But the more I think about it, the more I am happy the Movie sucked. If it didn't, there would be a possibility that many people would accept it as the official plot for the HM. And then, like POTC characters from the movie might have been put into the attraction. I don't think I, personally, would like that.

Oh yes...it could have been worse. The production values could have been poor, leading to crappy-looking sets that had no eye candy value and paid no respect to the attractions, and they could have gone with another Media Ventures soundtrack like Pirates, instead of the period-appropriate, GGG-heavy score Mark Mancina wrote. And they could have cast Christopher Walken instead of Terence Stamp.

For those of you picking through the debris, looking for something worth salvaging in the aftermath of the HM movie, two words: Nathan Schroeder.

Linked it before, and I'll probably link it again. If you're looking to cleanse your palate after viewing...um...a more recent HM project, here's the place to go:

    Nathan Schroeder's Portfolio Site

    Try it. You'll feel better.

Dang. His work never ceases to amaze me. His graphite work seems to have a bit more soul than some of his post-2002 digital work, but it's all-around HIGHLY impressive.

A little Haunted Mansion eye-candy for a lazy Sunday evening...
Here's Beating Heart (middle version) in an early and a late incarnation, a couple of nice pictures you haven't seen a million times.

The noise on the first one was bothering me, so I doctored it up, just a little bit.
