    Special Effect on Star Tours

Can anyone tell me if the strobe light effect in on Star Tours has always been there, or has it appeared recently. To be more specific the effect is in the star speeder 3000; there are some lights mounted above the doors, and facing away from the screen that go off at pre-programmed times such as when you take laser fire or the speeder crashes into something.

It is new or, either I was sitting in the right (or wrong place) for the effect to be visible or the timing was off so that what was happening was apparent. I thought this was kind of cool it gave an extra kick the vibrations in the simulator and the explosions on the screen.

I still think the ride is tired, though and the film is looking dirty, but I still enjoyed it.

The lights have always been there, the only thing that was improved during the 50th were the control panels that rex uses to fly the star speeder. Patience, the new star speeders and new destinations are on their way.

As far as I know, they are original to the attraction.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Yes, and tomorrow it's going to rain money and fuzzy kittens.

Considering how much has been done with Star Tours II, yep, I predict...cloudy with a chance of money and fuzzy kittens.

But anyway, yeah, those strobes do help a lot. I first noticed them a few years back, and they do improve the realism a lot.

I love the effect of the lights on the panel changing from blue or yellow to red when Rex is in trouble.
I didn't realize that it was added during the last rehab.

I hope that this isn't a hijack, but are there subtle differences in Rex based on which Starspeeder that you board?
I mean can you tell which unit that you are in once the doors are closed?
