Hmm, not too bad!
I'm liking that they don't have "What Will You Celebrate?" actually written on them ala YoaMD.

Those are awesome! I love it.

Edit: I just noticed that the pole with the Pluto hat and Goofy hat happen to be Mardi Gras colors. I'm sure it was unintentional, though >.<

From the photos, I'm thinking they look a little overkill and particularly clashy with Main Street. Maybe they look better in person. I hope so.

Re: What will you celebrate - decorations going up!

I like them! They are very colorful. Nice change from the bland YOMD stuff.

I think anything they decorate for on Main St aside from the basic seasonal holidays will clash with street's theme. They want to create a "party atmosphere" and one way to do the is have colorful decorations. This is just some of the lamp posts for now. Wait until the other stuff is up! By mid-March there will certainly be lots more.

Love the way the decorations wrap around the light pole. The bright colorful flowers and streamers really POP!

Re: What will you celebrate - decorations going up!

I like it. and I will stand behind my choice in liking all these decorations. I have a lot of trust in the Disney of today.

and if the decorations don't "Fit" the feel of main street....when have party decorations ever truly matched an area...it is supposed to be fun and festive...and I am glad Disney is not afraid to decorate in the fashion.

Re: What will you celebrate - decorations going up!

I'm not completely wild about them. They do clash pretty bad with the light pole paint and the other colors on Main Street. I understand that they want bright party colors, but not sure this was the best idea. Maybe it will look better in person. I have the same feeling about the bright orange and green banners throughout DTD. I mean....orange and green? Are there two colors that go together LESS?

But they sure are bright! If they wanted bright, they certainly knocked it out of the park. I do, however, really appreciate the effort. You would be hard pressed to find a non Disney park that would spend that much time on detail. Not crazy about the colors, but am impressed with the design of the hats/flowers/ribbons on the poles.

I think they look okay, it brings more color to the area.

Well they get points for effort (Those wrapping banners certainly isn't the 'cheap route'). Certainly more engaging then simple banners... but I wish it were tied into the land in some way.

What if there were old west celebrations... main street celebrations... princess celebrations.. etc

I'm suprised people are saying 'better then the graffiti'.. the wrapping strands, etc remind me of that greatly.

I do agree, it should have been land specific. Honestly, I think it's all uncreative except for the free admission on your birthday, but then I don't get paid to think these things up.

The issue with the decorations is just that I'm waiting for the countdown until a really obnoxious guest or child of one snags their shirt or trips over the lamppost and sues the park. I'm particularly looking at the bottom areas.

I looked at it when it was being installed a couple nights ago and thought they were nice but that the wrapping should not have gone down that far, if you ask me.

Anyway, I hope I'm wrong though.

Bye.
