    Question Attraction Hommages

    MiceChatland - -

    This thread is in regard to attraction hommages at The Disneyland Resort. I know about the Eeyore sign in the Indiana Jones attraction, but what other hommages are at The Disneyland Resort (Disneyland/Disney's California Adventure/Downtown Disney)?

    Homages...hmmm...well, the three stuffed heads from the Country Bears show up on a wall in Pooh, and I believe there are some engravings in a rock wall in FNSV that hint at the original mermaids...

    Rainbow Ridge in Thunder.
    Almost all the America Sings AA's in Splash (also supposedly in Star Tours).
    Wells Expedition in Matterhorn (which is for Frank Wells... not for an attraction) also FW in Indy.
    Swiss record player in Tarzan.

    Ah, good point about Big Thunder. Lots of homages there. The town, as you said, but also:

    * The rainbow caverns
    * Some of the wildlife
    * The rocks that look like they're about to fall
    * The dinosaur bones

    And then there are homages to the mine train outside Big Thunder - the abandoned tunnels on the west side of Big Thunder Trail, the mine train itself along the Rivers of America...

    Are there any hommages to Superstar Limo in Monsters Inc.: Mike & Sully To The Rescue?

    In a way, the whole thing is an homage. Monsters Inc. is kind of like a really intense, permanent overlay of Superstar Limo.

    Not as such, but a lot of the original bizarre giant head celebrity figures are still in there, redressed as members of the CDC.....the Drew Carrey and Jackie Chan ones are pretty easy to pick out for me, as the Jackie Chan one is doing the same jump kick pose and Drew has brochures/flyers now instead of the hollywood maps he had in SL.

    After the helicopter scene, there's a guy in a yellow suit holding tickets in his hand fanning them out. If I recall correctly, Drew Carey was doing that in Superstar Limo selling map to celebrities' homes.

    In Star Tours, at one point (and if you look closely) you can see the shrinking machine from Adventures Through Inner Space. Someone else may be able to tell you more exactly when and where to see it.

    Also, a window on Main St. alludes to the orange grove that Disneyland used to be, and the family that owned it.

    Wow! That's really cool. I'll have to look for it the next time I go on Star Tours!

    Are there any hommages in Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters in regards to Circlevistion 360?

    Not as such, but in the exit store (Little Green Men Store Command) I think they have at least one display rack still shaped like one of the old Rocket Jets...unless I am imagining things, the Rocket Rods queue was brimming with old Tomorrowland vehicles before it went away.

    Oh, that's right. ATIS' Mighty Microscope shows up near the beginning of Star Tours - you plunge into the docking bay or whatever after taking the wrong route, and you swoop around inside there for a moment, and the microscope is easily visible on the right side of the screen at one point.

    The partially sunken Keel Boat.

    I believe there is one branch of Tarzan's Treehouse that was not changed over and still contains the original leaves from Swiss Family Treehouse as a tribute to the original attraction.

    There is a doll in IASW as a tribute to Mary Blair.
