    Halloween overlay idea for IASW...

Knott's and Universal both do scary Halloween things, so why not Disneyland?

    Here's an idea.

They turn It's a Small World into It's a Scary World during Halloween.

But from the outside of the ride, you won't see any change. No, the outside facade of the ride will remain the happy IASW everyone knows and loves. However, as soon as your boat goes inside you're greeted by the happy and smiling dolls singing the same song over and over again; only they're in various stages of PG-13 slasher movie death.

I just think the shock of it would be funny due to the mass rush of angry parents to City Hall.

hm..but that would mean less non-holiday IASW, wouldn't it? Closed in September to get ready for October changes, closed in November to get ready for It's a Small World Holiday, then closed in January to remove the overlay. I dunno, I just prefer the original.

I never saw Disneyland as the slasher movie type anyway.

I am not a fan of original Small World, even though from a objective point of view I appreciate it's history. That being said, I love horror movies, so I would be all for this, personally....though I doubt many others would go for it heh.

I would stand near the exit and watch the horrified kids. With the new characters, the kids would be mortified watching their favorite characters get murdered.

Please enjoy all the other attractions in fabulicious Vasooki-land!

It actually could have a further theme to it surrounding the movie, Bolt. Sing along with me!

Now it's time to kill Bolt

There is just one axe and a bloody paw
And a knife through fur up inside his jaw
    It is so horrible
    So delightfully bad

I think I might actually use that as a rare excuse to ride IASW!

    It's sick. It's twisted. I like it.

Waaay back when I used to be involved with a charity haunted house at UCI. For three years we were at the mall across the street due to construction on campus. The mall liked what we did with the Haunted House so much they hired us one year to do 'Santa's workshop' for Christmas. . We always wanted to combine the two.

"HE SEES YOU WHEN YOU'RE SLEEPING!" <followed by malevolent laughter....>

I've always wanted to take apart one of those white wire reindeer everyone uses for Christmas and hang all the parts from a tree....do the "Psycho" style shadow with Santa holding the knife....

OK, the nice young man in the pretty white coat says it's time for my meds now. Bye bye.

The complaints at City Hall would be tremendous, but I like the idea. The most scary idea is theming it to "An Inconvenient Truth" and Have it all about the effects of Global Warming and what will happen if we don't stop it.

I'm always surprised how many Disney fans there are who either don't like, or pass on, Small World. It's a Disneyland classic.

I mean, when you look at those of us who find Disneyland to be such a special place that we'll visit boards like this, and yet some of the people who visit these boards seem to look down their nose at Small World.

Small World has Walt written all over it, and IMO it's as much the classic as Tiki, POTC and HM (and a plethora of others for that matter).

I guess that's what it comes down to though....personal opinion. I just find it surprising that so many put it down. I think it's cool if it's not the attraction of choice for some, or one that some people don't always ride, but when people put it down I find that intriguing.

Now this is not to say y'all have to love it. But I think someone here said it well when they noted that it might not be their favorite, but they appreciate it for what it is.

I'm still sort of a big kid because it still makes me smile. I dig the memories and the innocence of it.
