Re: Is the Dole Whip an acquired taste?

Wow, I can't imagine anyone not liking Dole Whip! I adore it. And of course if you don't like pineapple PLEASE don't waste your time on it. Gosh!(as Napoleon Dynamite would say). Dole Whip to my knowlegde is dairy free. So, there should be no cheesy flavor whatsoever. I am really sorry you had a bad Whip. Whenever I am in line I overhear people around me wondering what to order. I always try to convince them to get the Dole Whip. Mmmmm. It is really like soft serve pineapple sherbet.

    Now I want one :-((((

Me too - does anyone know of a recipe to make them at home? We are wanting to get an ice cream attachment for our mixer and thought we might give it a try.

Groveling before me optional. Do note, however that this is a dairy version while the one sold at Disneyland is non-dairy.

Couldn't find a groveling smilie - so this will have to do. Thanks so much!

Maybe it was just your pregnancy brain.

All joking aside. I have never-ever had a bad Dole Whip.

Is it bad that I'd actually be willing to try parmesan cheese ice cream?

Seriously, though, I've never had the whip taste like milk, cheese, or anything dairy. Maybe someone spilled something in the mix? Gross, I know.....

    Jesus, is that you?

Any word on how much an ice cream maker will set me back?

I too tried a Dole Whip on the 17th after hearing the raving here. It was love at first taste I tell you. I don't know how many I had, but I had a lot.

Target has a few good ice cream makers. Funny thing though, the ice cream makers are probably cheaper than the cost it will be to actually make the ice cream.

    Here's a link for ya. http://www.target.com/gp/search.html...rget&x=21&y=14

I don't like pineapple, but I LOVE Dole Whips. I had avoided them for so long (10 or so years as an AP), but once I "discovered" them a couple of years ago, I can't get enough of them.

Hmmm... maybe I will head to the park and get one right now! No wait, I can't. Gotta go home and fix the 'puter.

I've never had one. I love pineapple (especially the juice). So what are they? Which would you recommend- the Pineapple Dole Whip or the Dole Whip Float?
