The only place I've ever seen Dole Whips outside of Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom is The Dole Plantation on Oahu, Hawaii. And it tasted just like Disney Dole Whip! So when I was in HI, I got to have a nice memory of being at Disney and when I'm at Disney, I get to have a nice memory of being in Hawaii!

Please don't let them start selling it in stores! They are far too special and having it available every day would make it less special.

I don't like pineapple, but I LOVE Dole Whip. It's good. Maybe it's an acquired taste. It is refreshing on a warm day.

I really don't like pineapples in any form, but I was dying to try the Dole Whip after hearing all the rantings over it. When I tried it, I found that I did like it enough to try it again. It just makes me wonder if all the hype made me think I was eating "soft serve enlightenment" and maybe made the Dole Whip taste better than I would have thought it was without the hype.

Hmmm... maybe I will head to the park and get one right now! No wait, I can't. Gotta go home and fix the 'puter.
Well, since you said that, maybe I will try it when I go to disneyland this weekend.

I actually discovered that my State Fair has Dolewhip. They had the standard Pineapple flavor, along with a Raspberry flavor. I opted just for the 'plain' old pineapple. It was like have a mini vacation for five minutes or so.

I was waiting for you to weigh in on this one! Thanks to dlfreak, I now have a recipe. Now we just need an ice cream maker attachment for our mixer.

I am craving one right now so badly.....

I think that people like Dole Whip not because it's an exceptional delicacy, but rather because, like the beloved Churro, it's something that's rather unique to Disneyland. It's not something that's commonly found at McDonalds or Seven-Eleven, so it reminds people of the Park.

I tried it once. It was nothing to write home about. My theroy was they must be so popular because they are relativley inexpensive comapred to other snack items in the park.

it remnded me of soft serve that can be found anywhere with pineapple flavor added...nothing special.

I like the pineapple whip. But what I hate is the mint julep. I don't get why anyone would like it.

Wait until about a year and a half after you've had the baby. That'll give those pregnancy hormones time to dissipate. (okay... I'm exaggerating a bit, but still...)

Then, that Dole whip will be the taste treat we've all been crowing about.

Will definitely do. Turns out I got a very nasty stomach flu about 30 hours after I got home too, so that may have affected the ol' taste buds as well.
