Seeing as how the weather was so nice I decided to head over to Disneyland and take in a few rides and take some photos.
First off the flowers are now beginning to bloom on the floral display
I think it's beginning to look quite nice.
When I was there last it was right before the Celebration decorations went up on the lamp posts. I think they are very colorful and pretty.

After going on Star Tours and Buzz I noticed the line for the Subs was only 15 minutes. I've not yet been on in the daytime and was able to get some neat shots out the porthole.
I went over to Frontierland and then Pirates and then Indy. Walked over and went through the Castle. On my way over to see Jedi I noticed Monorail Blue was just sitting on the track.
These poor people were facing right into the sun
But the kids were having fun
I sat down and waited to see what would happen and after 10 minutes he tooted the horn and off it went. So I'm guessing something was happening in the station to cause a delay.
Then I went to the Jedi Training Academy. I've not been there in some time and had not taken any pictures with my new camera. Unfortunately it was the final show of the day and the shadows were such that I was not able to get a lot of good photos.
"OK, now here's what you have to do"
"You want me to do what???!!!"
"You heard him kid"
"Yes. That's what I said!"
"It's easy, and fun ... see?"
"So the light comes out of here?"
"And I don't think they'll stand a chance, because you're really cute ... and short like an Ewok."
Cue music ... Cue foggy smoke ... cue stage rising. I said, cue stage rising.
Oops, the stage did not come up. So the tech's were scrambling while everyone ad libbed. Then the cue came and the music started and Darth Vader came ... from the back. He surprised me so I didn't get a photo of him coming from that way. Man, that guy is tall.
And then of course there is Darth Maul
This was the first kid up. It was so funny because he just stood there. The master told him three times to activate his light saber and then finally he did it and everyone cheered.
They're really getting into it
Next I headed over for the final show of the day at The Golden Horseshoe. There is an earlier thread regarding the fact that there will be no Billy Hill Show on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I spoke with one of the Billy's earlier in the day and he confirmed this. Kirk Wall (Elvis Billy) and Dennis (Fiddle Billy - he plays The Orange Blossom Special) will be the constants - that is they will be on 5 days a week. The other guys will rotate in and out depending on the day of the week. The other lead Billy, John, who takes over from Kirk on Thursday and Fridays will no longer be playing with the group. He is part of Laughing Stock (the one who dresses up like a woman) and he will continue with them. Also Laughing Stock will come into The Golden Horseshoe and perform on the stage on Tuesday and Wednesday. This is all part of Entertainments current cut backs. This Friday will be John's last day with the Billys.
And here he is
The show is a lot like Kirks but they also do and say different things.
For instance they are Hillbillies from ... the hills of Santa Monica and then they launch into some Beach Boy songs. It was good.
Dennis rocks on this electric guitar which was really cool
John's teeth are called buck teeth because he bought them for only a dollar
They bring someone up from the audience to play the fiddle with them. This gal was really enjoying herself
This part is pretty much the same
I would imagine if Kirk were ever sick or needed a day off that they would call John in to sub for him but that is my opinion only.
After this I decided to beat the crowds out of there, and besides I was cold as I left my jacket in the car.
And so we end this trip with a little piano music over by Coke Corner.
See you at the park on Sunday for the big anniversery meet.
