New Aladdin Ride!

Okay I came up with this idea in history class. xD

Outside and Queue:
The outside facade would look like the Cave of Wonders, and you would walk through the mouth, and into a dark cave, with riches strewn around the floor at the edges, and the loading area has 4 pillars painted gold, with the lamp on one, the carpet on another. You board into a carpet, with the same capcity of the Space Montain rockets. :

The ride:
It starts out slow, looking at riches, and as you round the corner, you see an aladdin AA halfway up the stairs, with the lamp on the top of the stairs. You make another turn and go up a hill, seeing the lamp at the top. You hear a voice saying that you shoudn't have touched any riches!! The ride generally speeds up, and get bumpy, and faster from here on out. A Genie AA is off to the side saying he is going to help you. There is lava to one side of you, about to get you. The genie does a spoof on tinkerbelle, and sprinkles pixie dust, and the ending finale is a recreation of the number "Aint Never Had a Friend like Me"

I know it has some flaws, and it seems a little like indy, but it was a great pass time while we were doing review. What do you think?

Re: New Aladdin Ride!

I have no idea. xD Maybe save it for a third gate, since it would be pretty big, like indy.

Re: New Aladdin Ride!

I was thinking it could be similar to the cars of space mountain. I just can't think of another vehicle that could be used.

Re: New Aladdin Ride!

I like it.
And I also appreciate the fact that you're using your history class time effectively.
Bravo!

I think we should ride in rugs, though.

Re: New Aladdin Ride!

A few years ago I designed a coaster/darkride based off the of carpet sequence. I designed it to be a hanging coaster with the train designed to look like one long carpet. With the hanging cars the motion would be closer to flying, and if the track was hidden above a lighting grid/facades, it would keep the experience less predictable than an average coaster.

The attraction began with a loading station is the treasure room. The carpet then winds through some small damp tunnels until it reaches the lamp room. There it would begin it's ascent (lift) up the steps towards the lamp at the top. Abu and the idol are seen on the bank of the water, a voice tells that we have disturbed the idol and the room goes dark.

A live flame errupts from the top of the mount (which is now directly under us), room lighting shifts to lava and fire, we "slide" down the sleek side until a rock juts out and sends us up and over the lava. A few bunny hops over lava burts and we exit the room into another room. This room has us narrowly escaping pieces of rock falling from the ceiling (perfected ice effect from Indy), as well as the swinging motion of the cars having us near missing the sides of the chasm as well. Finally, large animatronic stone pillars begin to totter and colapse over the exit of the room. We zoom through as we hear the room crashing down and enter a corkscrew through a tunnel.

We come out of the corkscew long enough to notice we are heading for a solid wall. We pull up at the last second, looping around and down through a doorway into the treasure room at the cavern floor.

The treasure room would be the grand finale with fire and water shooting up all around as the structure comes crashing down A voice over the Genie tells us "To keep our hands and arms inside the carpet. And we are outa here!" at which point our train dives into a dark tunnel and slows down. The carpet winds a corner to the unload station, designed to look like an oasis. Before we unload we are treated to a AA of stewartess Genie wishing us goodbyes and possibly even having more personal programmed responses a la Roz.

Re: New Aladdin Ride!

Nice concept, professortango! Very realistic and practical approach to an awesome new E-Ticket. Not sure where it would go, but it would be awesome. Maybe it could fit as the queue being the Oasis stage, then turning off to the side of the Jungle Cruise? It's a stretch, but who knows.

Re: New Aladdin Ride!

My design was before DCA, so eating into the parking lot was a lot more acceptable back then. Now with the esplanade, things have become a tad bit trickier.

But yes, originally I planned the marketplace to be where Aladdin's Oasis is and then having guests enter an underground queue through the Tiger's Mouth. The underground queue would allow much of backstage mainstreet to remain unscathed or changed and would transport guests beyond the berm much like Indy. Such a large attraction would needs be contained in a large showbuilding next to Indy.

The other idea I had was for a Peter Pan-esque darkride that would have guests flying on carpets through The Arabian Nights. The queue would be built into the waiting area for Aladdin's Oasis and the majority of the seating area. The attraction would encompass the stage, the plaza pavillion, and the kitchen that lies between the two of them. In order to allow more space for the attraction, I would expand the Plaza building to the sidewalk and eliminate the outdoor patio area.

Re: New Aladdin Ride!

^Now that I think about it, it wouldn't be possible. With Tiki Room on one side, Plaza Pavilion, backstage Main Street, esplanade, and Indy's show building, I highly doubt it would cause a decent attraction, let alone fit.

That is a very creative idea right there.

Re: New Aladdin Ride!

I think this is one of the most commonly requested attractions by the fans. I think it would be a great attraction for the third gate. It could be one of that parks iconic dark rides at openning. Hopefully they won't pull another DCA and not add a worthwhile dark ride for 10 years after that park opens.
