    A true Disneyland Heroine

    Walking in her footpaths
Landscape designer Ruth Shellhorn helped shape two essential symbols of the state -- the shopping mall and Disneyland.

    A fabulous article:

It's so wonderful to read about somebody who had so much influence on how Disneyland looks today.
Oh I can't WAIT to see it (again) for the first time!

Thank you all for taking the time to read it. What a treasure this woman is, so inspirational to find out about her tremendous contributions. Growing up here there is so very much to take for granted. Unfortunately, so much of her work has disappeared over time (and definitely NOT been improved upon or rivaled!) thankfully, this is not the case at Disneyland.
