HA! This is a fun one.

Two thumbs: WAY UP!!!! That's awesome. I'm still laughing!

I'm curious, how do you guys do the cut-outs? I got Photoshop 7. Sometimes I use the magic wand and sometimes I use the eraser, but the results don't always come out like I want them to with a nice clean cut-out. Is there a better way?

I don't know if I'll enter this round as I got lots on my plate for the next few days as I'm heading to Calgary on Monday to attend a job fair.

Well I always recommend using the mask tool and just brushing away the background using softer and smaller brushes when you're around the edges

I concur with CI. Layer masks are a really flexible way to approach it. You never actually delete the information - you just hide it, using the brush tool or the marquee tool or filters or whatever you want. I usually use a combination of manual brushing and the polygonal lasso tool, depending on the subject matter. (Brushing it manually is a lot easier with a Wacom tablet, too.)

Thanks for the tips CelestialImperium and Datameister. I've used the mask tool once, a while back. Gonna have to refresh my mind by consulting my Photoshop 7 for Dummies book for this and other techniques.

Layer masks/brushes are good, but I learned old school, way back when PS first came out with no layers. Ummm, yeah, that was REAL fun.

You can use the pen tool to make a path or mask . . . makes very clean edges.

    Oh and thanks!
