I actually wish they had brought Bambi, Marie, and Pocahontas over to the ride too. I was looking forward to seeing them.

Oh, and the Stitch figure is much improved compared to his Hong Kong cousin, as are Dory and Nemo (they are flat cutouts in Hong Kong). I'm really looking forward to this in April.

    December 21st 2012. It's all IASW's fault!

    * The America scene isn't the worst thing in the world, because all it does is depict us in the same light as the rest of the world - which is exactly the intent of the attraction.
    * I'm glad the rain forest was at least partially preserved.
    * Ultimately, I don't care what they do, because I very rarely ride the attraction. Maybe if they had decided to go "interactive" with guns, that'd change.
Datameister, In your post you said that the changes do not support the theme of the attraction. But I am curious if in your opinion they detract from the theme? Just for the record, I am not for or against the changes, I am just trying to get a sense of what has been done since I probably won't be able to go and ride IASW for at least a couple of more months.

I'm sure it will be worse when people get off work. I wish we could go down, but sitting 3 hours in rainy-day traffic doesn't sound like my idea of a good time.

The USA section looks like it was influenced more by Paris than Anaheim.

Hard to say if they really actively detract from the theme, IMO. But that's a little irrelevant, as far as I'm concerned. When you're doing something as expensive as theme park design, everything you do has to be either thematically supportive or a completely necessary evil. I fear the character additions are neither. But again, I don't really care. If I may be frank, the attraction creeps me out and I don't feel at all immersed when I can see all the ceiling tiles and machinery and whatnot.

    Exactly.

I've used this before today, and I doubt it will be the last time:

The America scene was designed by Mary Blair? If that is so I guess I am OK with that scene. Tony Baxter was actually involved with this. I think I want to throw up.

I call BS on the Mary Blair/America thing. It seems all too convenient and coincidental to be true.

Also, I don't blame Tony Baxter, or Kim Irvine, or Marty Sklar. I blame the corporation as a whole. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
