When will there be a new interpretation of the Peoplemover?

Every time i go to disneyland i see shellofitsformerselfland, or as it is commonly known as tommorowland.

the thing i dont get is why they cannot do something with the peoplemover track...what are some new interpretations of the peoplemover that can be done to capture the new generation of disney goer?

I think this has been discussed exhaustively in the past, but I vaguely remember there being new building codes that would be violated if it was restored.

see ive heard that too but i dont buy it. Maybe new building codes will be violated, but it is disney and problems like these have solutions.

I agree something needs to be done -- even if it's tearing the tracks down. As they are now, they're just an eyesore and a cruel reminder of the glory that was.

yea i agree. My gf who doesnt live in OC, and didnt really go to dland that often as a kid doesnt even remember what they were. All she sees are tracks leading in and out of buildings.

at this point i think i would settle on a people mover return with pixar character shoved in.

So far WDI's been up to this:

"The old People Mover Track would be home to a new Gyroball ride. Riders would be completely enclosed in a clear sphere shaped vehicle which would turn and flip them around as it traveled along the track."

That sounds rad, but as long as they kept that "Peoplemover" element to it. What that is? I dont know i think its different for everyone.

Certainly at this point, the only wrong thing to do is nothing.

There's gotta be a way to utilize the track and the space to give the people a mover!

It would be really cool to see some edu-tainment back at the park. But that means money so thats where the problem lies

There are plenty of other wrong things that could be done with that track. FindingNemoMover, anyone?

According to BlueSky, WDI was thinking of the pods from the Incredibles, but decided against the idea and are now once again debating the issue.

Smart move. I'd rather wait then get ANOTHER Pixar attraction in Tomorrowland... but I agree that track desperately needs something.

IMO... there was never anything wrong with the original PeopleMover . It was a fun leisure ride, how many of those are around anymore?? Or they could at least make it like WDW's (covered).

Re: When will there be a new interpretation of the Peoplemover?

I was there last week with a friend who hadn't been in awhile. I mentioned bringing the peoplemover back to him, and he looked at me like he had no clue what i was talking about.
I pointed at the track in tomorrowland and said that it used to be the people mover. He looked up and then back at me in amazement, and said "that used to be a RIDE? i thought it was just there to look cool..."

I'm scared that they were thinking of doing the Incredibles thing.
