If you look closely inside the new frame for Mickey's head, do you see motors as well? Were those there before?! I think they're in the appropriate places for the mouth and eyes, at least one eye. Could this confirm that there will be automation on the Mickey head? And that they will interact during WOC? I know there was speculation, but never confirmation.

I really hope it's only a wink. Giving it more would seem like overkill.

Yes but then don't you think a wink would be underkill?? Just a wink... seems like a waste of money in making Mickey interactive if all he'll do is wink!

Not really. Seeing that big face talk or do anything but wink would be really creepy IMO. A wink would be a cute, subtle thing for him to do, maybe during the finale of the show.

Well I definitely don't think he should be busting out in song or anything lol, but I would expect something more than a mere wink. To me that's kind of underwhelming and a weak showcase of the technology. It's cute, but it doesn't give it that kick that I would expect. Anyway, I don't really know what to expect. Whatever they do, I hope it's pleasing to everyone.

I'd laugh so hard if they made Mickey an oversized Felix wall-clock.

ok... so the concept art shows Mickey 3D... how are they going to keep the birds off hid nose? I mean unless they are going to hose the face off every night, the nose is going to go from black to grey/white in a few weeks.

Also I doubt they will make the face move... it would be expensive to maintain, and if it supposed to be a big part of WOC could cause it to go 101... or even be completely cut entirley from the show... i mean take in consideration both the Observatron and the planets on Astro they break down so often they just ignore them.

furthermore... I think the frame they are putting up on the fun wheel is just the braces for the face, which is probably in 3 pieces - the 2 ears and the main face- and will most likely go up in one evening.

I think the spinning sun wheel and screams from the swinging cars and swinging cars themselves should keep the birds off.

Except I was talking about the sun on screamin' - not the fun wheel.

edit: re-reading my post.. I see how I was confusing.. I was in a rush. What I was trying to say was.. the sun I think will be a 3d effect, like the old loop was.

Thx for the other photo, that's more then the original concept art shown which looked flat.

If Mickey is animated on the Fun Wheel-- and I've said something along these lines, before-- that will be the largest and scariest AA ever! The moment he starts laughing, he'll scare the Pressler out of little children. It's a good thing they're building those new restrooms near the viewing area!

    Electricity

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

wow, I too actually hope the motors aren't for excissive movement. Maybe he can look towards somewhere or wink, but not be the star of the show. That would just be too weird.

My guess for control tower (unless it's something not yet built at all) is located at the top right corner of the Grand Californian construction. There is a small addition there that would either be a perfect place for the control room, or else one amazing hotel room. I don't think it would be the spot under the bridge- this is based solely on the fact that the two show control towers I can think of are high up- the Bellagio's is top center, and Epcot's is at the top of the Mexican pyramid.

Tell that to the high power tension lines birds just sit on Tho wrapping it with a fine metal net/grid to run current through is an interesting idea
