Why would white look awful? Because of the lights it could be made any color at all. And during the day it would blend in with the coaster.

With a dark red, you can't light it at all. It would muddy any sort of color but red or very saturated blue that you tried to put on it.

I do remember the original lighting on Screamin', and it was pretty dang cool. But as I recall they were tubes not led lights, or am I way off on that one? I remember the lighting on the scream tubes was green and blue and that's all it could be.

^I really like your idea with the lighting but I think during the day it would just look bland.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker III

I would much prefer white scream tubes...the colored scream tubes always struck me as garish, and not very Victorian...in fact I would rather they just do away with the tubes, just like in the Blue Sky Cellar model. With the same line of thought I wish they would replace the blue windows in Ariel's Grotto...blue glass strikes me as post-modern not Victorian.

No more bland than the whole coaster being white, and it would fit a Victorian theme much better if they were white as well. Besides, the focus is on the cars on the ride, and they are brightly colored. That is the motion and the color. It draws you in. You don't want people looking at your scream shields.

At night, when what they are is less obvious, you can use them for color screens with light. This provides the motion that the cars provide in the day, as well as the color.

I don't like the idea of white tubes either. I think that if they are staying they need to have some color on them

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker III

I noticed in another photo recently.. that the tubes also go UNDER the track and are solid across there as well. In short, they fully enclose the track. Makes it much more envolved to swap/change them I guess. yuk

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker III

Okay, here is my question. The new parade route will run through Carsland. But Carsland doesn't open till 2012. The new entrance opens 2011. I believe the new entrance won't be designed to handle new parades. So what will happen from around 2010 (when construction begins on Buena Vista Street) to when Carsland opens?

The parade will start
at the service area gates between the farm and wharf and go into the pier.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker III

The other night I had a dream that Screamin got new trains to match the victorian theme. They were all the same colors only a little darker, and instead of the sun burst on the front they had the mickey face (like fun wheel) on it and they had stripes. The stripes were kinda small and ran vertically across the front of the first car and horizontally on the sides of all the others. It looked amazing, if only we could print out dreams.

If you're just talking some small decorative details like brackets at each tube structure that could definitely work, but even that wouldn't be easy. You'd have to have a way to connect the wood to the steel or fabricate metal elements, either way would be tricky and not cheap. I suppose you could weld a bunch or mounting angles to the steel structure to attach the wood, but that would entail a ton of field welding and a lot of work in general. You also have to be careful about weight, adding a bunch of weight at the top of the structure would have a major impact on the lateral forces and if you were not careful could force other seismic upgrades.

HI! this is my first post. Since the timon lot is being used for cars land, the parking access road can be taken out. This provide extra land behind Paridise Pier for a future E-ticket rise if Goofy's flight school in taken out. Also combining the farm and bug's land with SF wharf for a good size SF land. this will mean that the bug's land ride will be displaced. This will allow for 3 options: 1) take out bug's land completly from DCA, 2) adsorb some the ride into other land, maybe some to PP, some to cars land, 3) move bug's land over between ToT and car's land. this is just my 2 cents.

Can we refer to it by its proper name? No offense.
