MasterGracey is actually a British secret agent, he always slips 009 somewhere into his posts.

oops, I hope that wasn't a secret...

The boardwalk was never part of the official plan, it was just an early concept that was put into the model that everybody got their hopes up about

Regular year or fiscal year?

Also, does anyone know if the Shops in Paradise Pier are still getting their re-theming after the games open? I thought I read some where that might not be happening either at all or just for now. Thanks!

^It will probably happen, just not anytime soon, I don't think. Probably Phase II. Then again, you can never be sure. Anyone have info on this?

They are going behind walls in april when the Midway Games open up. They don't want the midway games and shops closed at the same time, loose money that way. But yet it is happening and soon.

I would hope they would re-do the shops. The contrast would look horrible with games 2 feet away.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker III

I am extremely depressed about the Electrical parade soundtrack update. The soundtrack doesn't need updating, it's perfect the way it is. There's no way a new soundtrack could have the warmth and presence of the Analogue synthesizers used to create the original soundtrack. Observe MSEP-Dreamlights at TDL. The soundtrack is cold and mechanical.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker III

^Personally I like the update. I really do enjoy the Electrical Light Parade but my dream would be having a version of Dreamlights in DL and a new Daytime and Nightime parade over at DCA. I think that the Dreamlight floats are very cool and while they aren't the original I think they are very cool. Anyways, I am open to change and so should you. You don't know the final outcome will be like. So don't jump the gun. After all we all know how undecivive the Imagineers are.

My concern isn't the artistic value of new music, but rather the technical aspects of creating it. It's nearly impossible to get the correct sound of the original MSEP synthesizers with modern synths. Dreamlights to me sounds cold and artificial, especially with the ridiculous synth percussion.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker III

Why has the original post not been updated to reflect the removal of the Mickey head on California Screamin'?

^I think it is better not to criticize MasterGracy's "errors". He is doing a great job and even though he lets a few things slip, he consistently updates the thread.

You know, I had considered making an entry for this when it first happened, but held back because at the time I didn't think it would be such a major deal. But I guess there should have been and entry for it all along, because it is a big part of Paradise Pier's re-branding. Anyway, I've added an entry for it.

If anybody has a better date on when the project may be completed, let me know.
California Screamin' loop re-dressing
Details: The Mickey Mouse icon will be removed and replaced with a new sunburst icon and Paradise Pier logo.
Project Status: In progress. Began January 2009.
Completion Date: By the opening of Mickey's Fun Wheel on April 24.

No, by all means -- if I let something slip, or if something hasn't been updated properly - PLEASE point it out. I've got two Project Trackers to keep track of along with my Dateline Disneyland column every week, so sometimes I miss things! I appreciate the help
