The amount of people using the camera has increased a lot causing the camera to crash...

Not really project update, maybe... but in case anyone is wondering my Mulholland Madness has been closed during the rain lately, it's because guests and CMs were slipping on the exit stairs. Until they do something about that, rain = no Madness.

Hmm point made. But to me that one doesn't seem as prominent. Or perhaps I hold WDW and DL to different standards.

In all honesty, the DHS probably should come down too.

The DHS one has a specific story and IS IN THEME with the Hollywood Blvd. I just wish I could remember/find the story of the lake and dinosaur. It escapes me at the momment.

I went back and listened to an old DIS that Lou Mongello did. Gurdy the Dinosaur has roots in the history of animation. In one animation sequence, she drinks up a lake and then spits it out. That being said, almost no one will ever get that and it just looks odd.

I bring that up because I would be curious to know the back story of DCA's dinosaur.

The Story of DCA's Dinosaur.

His name is Dinosaur Jack, he owns a sunglass shack. When he was born he was pink and everybody made fun of him. So he got surgery and became green, everyone still makes fun of him.

Dinosoaur Gertie's Ice Cream of Extinction is more than just a homage to animation pioneer Winsor McCay and his famous short Gertie the Dinosaur. It is also an example of California Crazy. The building doesn't need a specific story to exist because it fits perfectly within the experience of California during the golden age of film.

I might be wrong but isn't DCA's dino a tribute to the dino structures near the old route 66 as well as the once somewhat famous dino in cabazon?

Haha, I'm not too big a fan of that green dinosaur myself. It's pretty tacky and entirely random. I think this will be the case even moreso after all the refurb going on with the park is completed.

Speaking of which I just Googled Dinosaur Jack and this is the first thing that came up. I wonder what Disney thinks of it:
