Yeah, I think there was a lot they could have done with dinosaurs. They could have made a really immersive environment with AA dinosaurs, or a Jungle Cruise-type touring around a dinosaur habitat (like a tamer Countdown to Extinction). Instead they built a carny, which barely has anything to do with dinosaurs at all.

I'm also ok with not having a boardwalk as long as it enhances another ride, but I'm insanely curious as to what they are going to do instead? They can't keep the mirrors or whatever it was and it looks like they've taken it out already. Anyone know what's gonna be there instead?

The problem with this is, Jurassic Park the ride over at Universal or Islands of Adventure in Florida.

There already is San Francisco area. That's where the bathrooms are!
Of course they could always open up a Sacramento area and introduce the Hall of Governors.

Well then Disney should blow them out of the water and give us a ride on the back of an AA Dino.

I hope they take it down sometime in Phase 2. They should save the money from the flight school and get rid of the whole thing. What a mess...DCA.....

I agree, you would find it interesting to know that if Jumping jelley fish was ripped out and the parade route diverted to go thru that area then it would add more property space in that corner of the park. Once that was done the removal of Mullholand madness, the dino and burger invasion would allow enough room to build an almost exact replica of New Orleans square. Even the first show building of Pirates which would be the loading area and swamp as well as the blue bayou would fit. Obviously some alteration would have to be made but the overall space would be equal.

I think that the whole northern area of the bay would have made an interesting village with a couple darkrides, eateries and shops. Then the pier theme could have been started with the Pizza oom mow mow and orange stinger. The area would have also allowed for the zephyr to be relocated as an entry icon into the pier area.

I do not believe that is the problem, the queue area for the new Silly Symphony will also be close to parts of the main water screen

Woah. I didn't even realize it was that big. But I guess that makes sense.... Maybe that will help out in some future plans......

The space in this corner of the park is not used well at all. Very much laid out like a 6 Flags park, not the clever design and use of space you find in DL.

Disney knows they have the space, and ideas for that corner, however do they have the money? we all know they do. In time I guess. Ride Ride rides, its with the park needs.

That's what DCA already has. Attractions, attractions, attractions is what the park needs.

My biggest problem with this makeover is that their solution to upgrading the worst area of the park, is to add a large picnic area and add some cheep theming to MM.

From what I understand, the overlay to MM is a temporary thing until future plans come into effect.

The Picnic area will add a lot of needed themeing to the area as it will be a full on Victorian Biergarten. This is also right in the area where TLM will be, though the entrance for that will most likely be down (East) further from this picnic area.

Keep in mind that there are various future plans for DCA outside of this current project. Not everything they want to do is in this initial phase. This is just the beginning. Once they are done in 2012, that is not the end of DCA work forever.

Okaying, I don't understand why people are saying that Paradise Pier should be ripped out for a San Francisco area. I absolutely hate that idea. That would kill Screamin which is a park icon. Removing that is like removing Space Mountain from Tomorrowland or Splash Mountain from Critter Country. Besides, an area that big for a wharf theme? Doesn't make sense.

like Mycroft already stated, DCA won't be completed when this batch of upgrades are done. There are plans that aren't public yet and aren't even finalized at this point. What will be there in 2012 is only the begining.
