![]() | Disneyland Now or Twenty Years Ago Well, what would you rather have, our current Disneyland or a Disneyland twenty years ago back in 1989? Just think of our current roster compared to that of 1989's: 1989 Roster: Main Street USA Main Street Vehicles Penny Arcade (Not a Store) Main Street Cinema The Walt Disney Story Featuring "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" (1985-2001 Version) Main Street Train Station Disneyland Presents A Preview of Coming Attractions Adventureland Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room (Original Version) Swiss Family Treehouse Jungle Cruise (1976-1993 Version) New Orleans Square Pirates of the Caribbean (1967-1997 Version) The Disney Gallery The Haunted Mansion (1969-2005 Version) New Orleans Square Train Station Critter Country Country Bear Playhouse Splash Mountain (Opened Summer '89) Teddi Berra's Swingin' Arcade Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes Frontierland Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Big Thunder Ranch (Barbeque Version) Mike Fink Keelboats Frontierland Shootin' Arcade Rafts to Tom Sawyer Island (Original Version) Mark Twain Riverboat Sailing Ship Columbia The Golden Horseshoe Revue (Original Show) Fantasyland Snow White's Scary Adventures Alice in Wonderland Peter Pan's Flight Motor Boat Cruise Matterhorn Bobsleds King Arthur Carousel Fantasyland Autopia Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough (1977-2001 Version) Storybook Land Canal Boats (1956-1992 Version) Casey Jr. Circus Train Dumbo the Flying Elephant Videopolis (Dance Floor Version) Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Mad Tea Party Pinocchio's Daring Journey it's a Small World (1966-2008 Version) Skyway to Tomorrowland Videopolis Train Station Tomorrolwand Space Mountain (1977-2003 Version) Star Tours Circle-Vision 360 (Woners of China/American Journeys Version) Autopia (1955-1999 Version) Starcade (1st and 2nd Floor Version) Magic Eye Theater: Captain EO Mission to Mars Rocket Jets PeopleMover Submarine Voyage (1959-1998 Version) Tomorrowland Terrace (1967-2001 Version) Skyway to Fantasyland Tomorrowland Train Station Tomorrowland Monorail (Mark V Model) Shows Fantsay in the Sky Fireworks Main Street Electrical Parade So if you could trade 2009 for 1989, would you?

![]() | Re: Disneyland Now or Twenty Years Ago I'm sticking with 2009. Not because I think all of the changes have been beneficial - far from it! - but because there have been a few really great ones. I like Indy more than I dislike TL 98 and the Pirates changes together, for instance. |

![]() | Re: Disneyland Now or Twenty Years Ago I would take 20 years ago. Too bad that Caurosel theater would still be closed though, at least we would have Splash. Plus, its pre pressler. The Technology is better now, but the old had more heart. (Other then stuff like RDCT and POD of course!) You should put up a poll, it would be fun. =)

![]() | Re: Disneyland Now or Twenty Years Ago 2009. Because I just like all the new additions the park as added. There are definitely some benefits of the 89 version though. |

![]() | Re: Disneyland Now or Twenty Years Ago The only thing that was working and not working now was the Rocket Rods. I'd say 2009 is way better that 1999.

![]() | Re: Disneyland Now or Twenty Years Ago Is the parking lot included in the '89 version? If it is, I'd go with that one just for the sake of a blank slate for the second gate. |

![]() | Re: Disneyland Now or Twenty Years Ago I was going to say absolutely 20 years ago but then I noticed Indy wouldn't be a part of 89. So yes I chose 2009. I'll take Indy over PeopleMover and the original Subs. Nice question. |

![]() | Re: Disneyland Now or Twenty Years Ago Well, I would say all we are losing really is Indiana Jones Adventure and Fantasmic!. The only problem is Indiana Jones Adventure is a huge factor for Disneyland today.

![]() | Re: Disneyland Now or Twenty Years Ago hmmm for educational purposes I'd go back 20 years, it would be an absolute trip. But I'll stick with what I know, and that means an emotional attachment spanning from 1992- today. Sorry retro Disney.
