    Favorite Non-Movie/character Attraction?

Inspired by darkfairycthulu's thread about your favorite obscure attraction character, I would like to know your favorite non-Disney character/movie attraction at Disneyland. For example, Storybookland wouldn't count because the scenery is based on Disney character's homes, but Jungle Cruise would count. Space Mountain would count, but Nemo Subs wouldn't. In the case of Pirates, because they added Johnny Depp due to the movies, it doesn't count. But Haunted Mansion does count, because the movie didn't influence any changes to the attraction, and the movie was AFTER the attraction was created.

Clear? Like mud. Don't worry. I have a poll to set you straight.

And if you have something that didn't make the list, like the Main Street Vehicles or Astro-Orbiter, go ahead and let us know.

I'd have to say the ghost host. Is there better script and read perfectly like this one?

Hmmm...So Non-Movie/Character based? Well lets see, that leaves the train and the monorail....Train. lol

Seriously, probably Space Mtn or Screamin. Space if it's strictly D-Land proper.

Although that would be a great answer for a question I didn't ask, I think you should try again.

Space Mountain not only is it a good and fun ride, but it's one of my favorite rides at Disneyland.

    Re: Favorite Non-Movie/character Attraction?

i almost voted for tiki room or jungle cruise because i've been on a real kick for those two lately, but i think i'll remember how great HM once i ride it again now that it's up.

i was thinking, it's not that these aren't based on characters, it's that they're based around ORIGINAL characters, not movie characters. movie characters in rides are always shadows of their true greatness in the film, while a character made especially for a ride like the ghost host or the auctioneer can't achieve their full greatness doing what they were meant to do. marc davis was a genius at just drawing these incredibly expressive characters that you would only see in the ride for a short amount of time, but they are so rich that you remember them for ages after. he knew that designing the plot of a ride was like designing a whole new movie, and that he could populate the rides with original characters that would (and clearly have) stood the test of time. it's not nearly as boring as halfway rehashing a character that already exists.

I'd say Pirates of the Caribbean. Yes there is a movie, but that was after the ride.

I'd say Haunted Mansion. BTMRR is close, but HM is my favorite ride.

I think there should be a Pre-POTC refurb choice.
But since there's not, Space Mountain all the way.

I answered before the poll. Looks like I didn't understand the question.
