Disney Face Character Auditions

Do they ever cast men as woman or women as men face characters? I would think some woman could pass for young men/boy characters. I was at Disneyland last December and while waiting in line for the Sleeping Beauty walk-thru the Evil Queen was posing for pictures, she looked like a man. The Evil DRAG Queen Maleficent! LOL

Face character wise, you can only find that in Fantasmic. Peter, Maleficent, and the Evil Queen switch.

The walk around characters are always the appropriate gender. The Evil Queen you saw was a woman. Fuzzies swap genders.

so in fantasmic, peter the evil queen and mailficent are all the same person??

but isn't peter a little small..i have to ask..is malificent a masked character..she does look like a woman and has an incredibly pointy chin.

No, she means, Peter, the Queen & Mal are often played by the opposite gender. Basically Peter's a girl (as are many of the pirates) and the Queen and & Mal are guys. Maleficent has prostetics to make her features more prominent and wears a lot of make up.

In the UK, Peter Pan has traditionally always been played by girls, usually when it's being performed on stage in either plays or pantomimes.



**EDIT**: That has nothing to do with why Disneyland casts girls to play Peter, it just reminded me and I thought I'd share!

I agree with other posts, it's probably done this way as Peter Pan is meant to be quite slim and tiny, just easier to find girls with this build I suppose?

i think i actually saw him fly out from the boat on one part so i understand..i also realize that they have to have hook as a face character..(for obvious reasons)

and none of that matters, even if they had every written proof that they knew it was me, they wouldn't be able to do anything about it, there is no admission of my name, no picture of me, and no proof of either being related to me even if it was posted.

Actually, I know several people who have been fired for things they posted online/said in public (and most were in entertainment).
