The College Program is an internship program at both WDW and DL. You have to be at least 18 to do the CP. You can find more info here: Disney College Program |Disney Careers | Disney.com

You don't have to do the CP to be a face character (there are characters who are FT, PT, and seasonal as well). Yes, if you want to work at WDW you have to apply at Casting. I don't know if you have to bring a resume with you though.

thats even better, as when i go it will be easier to find

did you start at disney with an auition or did you go to the cp? i bet its real hard to become a face character, i couldn't imagine how many people would be there, and how many people would get cut in the first round. it's annoying because you'll never know what the casting directors are looking for ... oh well ..: ) ( :

Oh, yeah, I have a question!--is a park more likely to hire you as a character if you've worked there previously just like operating small rides and such?

I think it makes the process easier. People who are already working in the parks get a form from the supervisor to transfer departments, but for them minimal paperwork has to be done: they've already had their company background checks, their proofs of employment eligibility, and Disney can look at their work record and see how many points they have, etc.
My sister went to the recent parade dance audition, and she said a few people that she recognized from the parades in the parks went through very easily in the first cut. But in face characters, it's likely that unless you're already in entertainment, they wouldn't recognize you from another job in the park on the first cut.
In the later stages of the audition, it might help you out though. Say they have 2 girls for Jasmine that make it all the way to the end of the audition, and 1 works in attractions department and 1 is not employed at the park. Say they only want to hire 1 girl for Jasmine that day. It would be easier for them to take the one who was already a CM if they liked both girls equally.
Some auditions are only in-house, meaning existing CMs. Fantasmic! is only auditioned in-house, and occasionally they'll have a parade or character audition in-house BEFORE they have an open call audition for the same thing later.

i hava question, what if your british, just moved to florida, and just want to go audition(like if you didn't know anyone who works there or don't currently work in WDW) what would happen? could you still get hired?
or would it be a whole lot harder?
and do you have to bring a resume or schedule and interview?
    it's confusing..

You could go, no problem. Anyone can go to the auditions (even people who have never worked for Disney before).

And yes, you have to interview/apply at Casting before you can audition.

Nope. Just because you are friends with Alice, Wendy, and Tink (unless you are 5'0 or lower), you are not mouse. You are still munk.

    Re: Disney Face Character Auditions

I'm going to auditions on Aug 10 for Character (not face) performers. Theyre looking for 5'11+ but I wonder if theres really a cap on that since I'm 6'4'. But I'm gonna go and try my best anyway even though I have no idea what character I would be auditioning for!

The characters go to 6'4. You would be auditioning for all of the characters in your height range.
