    Re: Disney Face Character Auditions

apkick21- The 25th (26th?) is for the college program auditions and you would need to be interested in doing the college program for that one. The March 5th ones are for Disneyland only
(the 26th are for Walt Disney World) and they are looking for parade performers for their new parade. That means if you were to be picked from that one, you would have to move to the Anaheim area and you would be working in the parades, not the parks. Disney World does have the six month audition rule but Disneyland does not (but their auditions are usually spaced out pretty far apart). If you want to go to just a regular character performer audition (not parade, which would have more dancing in the audition) I would suggest going to either Disney World's March 10th or 24th auditions (both are Disney World, there are no Disneyland auditions for just look-a-likes).
Generally speaking, the parade performers and character look-a-likes will be for the parades only and the first cut would be based solely on your dancing skills. If you just want a character look-a-like audition, they usually make the first cut based on looks (height included). I would say that if you want to do parade, you would need some dance experience just to learn some of the terminology that they would use in rehearsals (and possibly the audition). Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it because they have the dance part in the look-a-like auditions just to check to see if you have some decent form of coordination and as long as you just keep smiling and really try, if you mess up the dance it shouldn't be as detrimental to your overall audition as it would if you audition for a parade.
Hopefully, this gives you some idea! Sorry if I seemed to ramble. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

    Re: Disney Face Character Auditions

okay so i decided to call them and that was super simple I was surprised that i wasnt on hold very long. I have been trying to decide which one to try march 5th in anaheim or march 24th in san fran. the 24th is only an hour and half away so i was thinking to try that one as my very first auditon would be a good idea since its super close and i like that it says that they are looking for princesses. the girl on the phone also said that there isnt a way to be ready for an audition besides being confident going into it. im sure it helps by continuing going to these auditions. there is also an audition for the cruise line and that seems like it would be so much fun!

if i go to san fran then the audition is for WDW but i dont think i mind which park i got a job for.

    Re: Disney Face Character Auditions

Hi everyone! I'm new to micechat! I will be auditioning next month and I was just wondering the basics. Like, do you check off what you want to audition for such as princess, fur character, or performer? Do you have to choose, or can it be for more than one?

Also, how tall are Jasmine and Pocahontas? I'm 5'0 and 1/2- 5'1. So does this place me only doing Alice, Wendy, and Tink? Those three are my favorite so that works.. What are the typical sizing for those 3?

So sorry for all these questions, I'm just reallllly nervous and I have no idea what to expect!
Any info regarding the audition process is greatly appreciated!

when you get to the audition do they say what parts they are looking for? for example i have very pale skin so if they are looking for a jasmine then would it be worth everyones time to move forward with the auditon?

    Re: Disney Face Character Auditions

They choose who they think you would look best as. It's based first and foremost on your height. Generally, Alice/Wendy and Tink are 4'8"-5'2"/3" and princesses start around 5'3" and go up to 5'7". From what I can tell, Jasmine is on the shorter end of these heights and Pocahontas is on the taller end (I've heard they look for 5'7" or taller and very fit) but they have been known to be friends with each other so I guess it's rather arbituary (these heights are just approximations). You don't get to choose which character you want to do and, if they like you, you won't find out who they're looking at you for until the very end when they wig you for a final look. Eye color is also pretty important as well as face shape. If you look at pictures of the princesses online you'll notice that they have distinct face shapes and eye colors. Alice/Wendy and Tink all have blue eyes and usually their friends have naturally blue eyes (although a few have worn contacts). If they really like you as a character but don't currently have a postition open, they will put you in what is called the character pool. You will go through the entire audition, they'll take your information and if a spot opens up in the next six months they'll call you. After six months you'll have to reaudition.

Instead of saying you are doing Mickey at work, you say you are "friends" with Mickey (to preserve character integrity).

Alright, I might have asked this before but... for the Tremaine sisters (stepsisters of Cinderella), what heights do they typically look for? I might be too tall for the princess realm (I've been measured both 5-7 and 5-8), and I've read that villians are a bit taller than princesses.. is this true?

I've heard the villains are taller too but I'm not sure how tall the Tremaine sisters are. I know Lady Tremaine is really tall but the sisters are usually a little shorter than her. I've heard that villains start at around 5'7" so that they are imposing. I would assume Drizella and Anastasia are included in this but I've never actually met them myself so I can't get a good comparison shot. I found this youtube video that shows the sisters next to Cinderella, but it's at a distance and hard to tell.
    YouTube - Anastasia and Drizella

The stepsisters fall around 5'4-5'5. But generally the other villians are taller then the princesses
