if you mean appearence..
atmoshpere characters are like goofy, captain hook, tigger e.t.c so are in full costume including head
face characters are ariel, alice, wendy, cinderella e.t.c
i imagine face characters are harder to get as the first cut is based on looks..then height..dancing and acting.
atmosphere could still be hard and i think the character costumes are specially made so you have to fit them.. and because of the fur your in you have to be BIG when your acting as you have to mime
i'm not as much of an expert as disneymouse..
but people i've read about have said that they went to the face character but didn't get it.then went to an atmosphere audition and nailed it!
i think it could be a little easier because you don't have to look like anyone as long as you can act BIG because you are in a costume, and you fit the requirements like height e.t.c .
you' are likely to get the role
. if it's parade you'd have to dance while being in a big costume so that would help..
could someone answer this,
just watched the princesses on the storybook land ride,
are the face characters like the princesses alice, wendy e.t.c
allowed to go on the rides when they want to??
I have been reading these forums for a while and thought it was about time I posted something!
I too have wanted to be a face character at Disney for some time.
I am from Australia, so the only options available to us are Tokyo and Hong Kong. Although, I think it would be amazing to be able to see those different cultures.
I have auditioned a couple of times now but have not yet made it through. It is hard because the 1st thing we have to do is the dance routine. Since I am not a dancer, (I have only been taking lessons now for about 6 months) it makes it a bit frustrating!
There is a Tokyo audition in under 2 months now though so yay!
Anyway, just though I would say hello to everyone! =)
so i was just checking the disney auditions website and it lists an upcoming face character audition. it was pretty specific for what characters they were looking for....i don't look like any of the characters they listed, should i show up anyway in hopes that they might consider other characters? are all auditions so specific on what characters they're looking for?
if you want to, go for it!
even though they have mentioned those characters.. you never know what else they're looking for..you could be very good at the dance and you might be in parades e.t.c you'll never know until you try and you could make it!! . but if you don't get through don't give up..it just means there wasn't a role available for you..so keep trying!
also from what i've heard the casting directors don't really say what they're looking for if you go to a face they're obviously looking for princess e.t.c but they won't tell you exactly who..
also it's good to know they're mentioning specific characters
I think the second Mickey is the same as the first. The teeth-like things on his face is supposed to be his upper lip, glued together at the sides of the "teeth," but they came apart from all the dancing. At least, I hope that's the case...
ANYWAY, I've recently had a renewed interest in becoming a furry (or "atmosphere character" as they're apparently called). I know you have to do a dance routine, but exactly what kind of dance is it? Is it simple, or complicated? Also, is there any height that Disney will automatically turn away?
