    Re: Disney Face Character Auditions

DancerGirl, it was technically a character performer audition, but after a few dance rounds they told us they were looking at the ones left for parades or shows. We learned three different routines and the last one had bits and pieces of the choreography from Festival of the Fantasy. At the end she said we all (the five of us) did fantastic and that we were almost certainly in the hiring pool and would get a call as soon as something opened up in the next six months. She seemed really enthusiastic about it. What did they say to you?

KMGtwirler, they told us the same thing. We were in the pool until a job opens up that we would be able to do.

Ab71, So exciting! I am not sure what this means for us though haha

DancerGirl, that's so weird! If they want you for dancing wonder why they're making you read lines? You'd think if they wanted you for face they would have done it at the audition?

You might have already been in the audition! I was 148, so I was just walking in the door when the first group went back. :-)

It was also a combined auditon. They were looking for look-a-likes and show/parade performers... SO idk! We will see what happens!

Oh cool, so what all did you do during each round? And how many were left at the end? In mine we did an easy skip across the floor, jazz square combo, then they separated face and dancers. The next round the dancer group did another dance and animation, then the next round they videoed a few of us doing that dance without the animation. The last round they taught us a third dance and videoed that the first time we did it. If they wanted us to read lines, we probably would have been with the face group instead of the dancer group, but who knows?

There were about 5 of us left at the end that were going for full-time not CP. We were not really told if they were looking at us for face or parade/show performer.

Does anyone know if being a castmember gives you an upper hand into getting into entertainment? Like are there face auditions that are closed for the public and open to cast members? Or do they get a transfer? I'm asking mainly towards disneyland in california because I know other parks work differently.

How does the 6-month rule work? I only know about the rule from this page, however nothing on the Disney auditions website says anything about the 6 month wait period. Does anyone know if the rule still applies and where you get the information about it from? I can't seem to find anything through Disney about it.

The rule doesn't apply anymore. There's no way they could keep track of everyone that auditioned anyway haha. I think the rule originally started because generally face characters or any job in entertainment hired every 6 months. But now they hire all around.

    Re: Disney Face Character Auditions

Under most circumstances, being a non-entertainment cast member won't help your chances. There are very few exceptions to that. For example, if you are a CP, there are entertainment auditions only open to CPs halfway through the program, and at extension time. The other exception was Star Wars weekend auditions this year. Because it's a limited time event, the auditions were only open to current cast members both in and not in entertainment (they were posted on the Hub and in some backstage areas). Somehow I made it through those auditions as a non-entertainment cast member, but the majority of other people taken were already entertainment and had a special line and numbers designation for just them. However, in normal auditions once you make it past the first round where they take your information, they ask if you are or have ever been a cast member and what your status and perner are. To me, I would think this would be beneficial is some way, because it means you're familiar with the company, don't have to go through Traditions again, don't have to relocate, and could most likely start ASAP. But it could also just be a way to check and see your record card, or it could mean nothing at all. Hope this helps!
