Toontown Expansion

I had this idea for a Toontown expansion that would work and WDI has even considered before.

First of all, it would be themed to the Hundred Acre Wood. The Whinnie the Pooh attraction would be transplanted there, but would be upgraded with the trackless technology. It would also follow a better storyline than wind, rain, drunk pooh, his birthday. It would be more along the lines of all the characters showing you around. Then that is when there could be a rainstorm and whatnot. The entrance for the ride would look similar to how it does now. And the queue would be indoors with storybook pages lining the line. Then every few minutes, the illustrations would come alive, similar to how it is in Tokyo, but with sharper images. Each illustration would be a scene from one of the Pooh films.

Also, since it is part of Toontown, you would be able to go and walk around insed all of the character's homes. You could walk around in Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, and Kanga + Rooh's homes. But for the gopher, only kids would be able to crawl arond inside. That is where Pooh Corner could be located.

The landscaping for the area would be all pine trees and ferns, trying to match a diciduous forest.

The Pooh meet-and-greet in Critter Country would be relocated here also.

Now I am trying to think of a few more rides to go in this area, so tell me your ideas. I don't want anything that is like Bug's Land, I want it to be unique!!!

But the best part............. the COUNTRY BEARS GO BACK IN CRITTER COUNTRY!!!!!

Pooh wouldn't really fit into Toontown. He's a stuffed animal, a "critter." Now, it would be awesome if they managed to expand Toontown and added another attraction there. And expanded Critter Country so a good Pooh dark ride and the Country Bears could be there, but there just isn't enough room.

Interesting idea. I'm curious where you'd put this all, though - immediately adjacent to Toontown are a number of key backstage areas. Let us also not forget that this area would need to be closed down at night for fireworks, like Toontown, and it would presumably require an even further walk to get to it...

Good question......I was thinking that this could wrap around the side of Fantasyland and have a smaller and secluded walkway that lead to it from Big Thunder Ranch. So the entrance to it from Toontown would be between Chip and Dale's Treehouse and Gadegt's Go-Coaster. Then it would be one path with attractions and stuff on both sides of you, and if you kept going, thre would be a small walkway that lead to the Ranch.

Re: Toontown Expansion

Unfortunately, I don't think that'd work in real life. There are some pretty crucial backstage service roads and so forth right there.

This doesn't fit in Toontown at all.

It would be nice if they took out the hungry bear and put that in there and then re-did pooh so people would stop complaining about it...(bitter party of one!)

Not to mention a little past the backstage buildings is the massive "yellow building" and its multi level parking lot.

I'm incredibly unimpressed with ToonTown, so I say you might as well scrap the whole thing and put a 'Hundred Acre Wood' in its place. Then you have space!

I like the kids crawling down gopher holes, except that knowing my kids I'd be crawling in after 'em when they freak out and freeze up!

Good idea though - fun.

Re: Toontown Expansion

I'm not much of a fan of this idea, although Pooh IS a toon, it doesn't fit the visual style of Toon Town. Not to say that it's any better off in Critter Country, but if we're gonna add some attractions to Toon Town, they aught to be original and fit right in the area.

True, but no expansion would go out that far, even if there were room.

Oh, people would just complain about the removal of the Hungry Bear instead! Hungry Bear, I might add, services far more guests than Winnie the Pooh ever did.

There IS plenty of room for Winnie the Pooh to be done right if they just spent the money on it. There's no need to take down anything else to make that happen.

As for the idea of a Hundred Acre Wood in Toon Town... not my cup of tea. It's fine where it is. I'm not a big Country Bear fan.. I appreciate it, but I'm not trying to bring that back. And movie winnie the pooh isn't exactly a practical idea either.

Re: Toontown Expansion

I kind of like our ToonTown to be like WDW's and have a tear drop tent area. From what I read at WDW in there ToonTown they have rare characters out to meet and greet with people. I would like that I deal and what I hear they bring out about 5 rare characters. I think if I read it right they do this every other week and on weekends. Also what this is is like traning the rare characters out to see how the guess acts with them. I would love ours to do that.

Re: Toontown Expansion

Time to dig this old idea up again then?

"Mono's Toon Town expansion" AKA "We don't need no stinkin' theater"

Of instead, as per this thread, relocated Pooh to Fantasyland and expand Toontown and Frontierland while we're at it...

In this version the entrance to Pooh would be a little like Tokyo's, and Frontierland would gain a train station as well as a proper western town...
