Monorail running?

I tried to search, but couldn't find my answer, so if it's out there, please post a link.
We went to DL 2.5 yrs ago and the monorail was only going 1 way. I was wondering if it's doing the full trip now? We leave on March 7th until the 12th. I know they got the new Mark VIIs but I know there has been window issues. I just want to be prepared.
Thank you!

Re: Monorail running?

Hey there,

The Monorail is running full-length now - you might have encountered an issue with the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage construction, I'm guessing? Can't tell you the running conditions of the trains themselves ... but it's going the full loop!

Re: Monorail running?

Last I heard/saw red and blue were both out doing full loops. Your problem sounds like it was Nemo construction related.

Re: Monorail running?

I believe that they change that based on demand and if it's really busy they always reserve the right to not allow round trips, but as the guys said most of the time now you should be ok.

Re: Monorail running?

As far as operating on a daily basis goes, you might as well flip a coin for your answer.

"Issues" have made the Monorail system a hit and/or miss proposition.

And if it is in operation, there is no guarantee that you will be able to make a round trip without having to get off and then back on again.

Good luck!

Re: Monorail running?

Yup, while we were there it was one or both (or none while they put the other one on) depending on demand. I'm so sad I was only able to ride it once!

Re: Monorail running?

Toi be more clear, both Monorail Red and Blue run a full circle, meaning there is a monorail about every 5 minutes. That being said, you will not encounter the waittimes you had with the finding Nemo construction because they were only running one train.

It is a round trip unless they decide to restrict it to a one way in which case you will have to disembark at the next station, but another monorail will coe in 5 minutes compared to 15.

Hope this helps.

Re: Monorail running?

Thank you! Yes we were there during Nemo Construction. I totally forgot about that! I don't mind if I have to get off, it was more the question of how long until a train shows up vs having to wait with the kids. Every 5 min. is perfect! Thanks for answering!

Re: Monorail running?

Well that sucks. I was hoping since it was getting to be spring break they'd be going full throttle. Oh well.

Re: Monorail running?

In the cast member daily information, it says effective immediately the monorail will be limited to one monorail till the end of March. During that time, the monorail may be restriced to Hotel Guests only and possible one way trips.

Sorry, but once again, MiceAge had it first....

Also, only Monorail Red is expected to run for the next few weeks, so you are looking at around 10 minutes or a bit longer per boarding cycle, so be prepared for restrictions, such as only one way trips and/or Disney owned Hotel Guests only during busy times.

That's OK for us since we usually stay at the DL Hotel for our trips anyway. It certainly cuts down on the number of tourists waiting in line for just a ride.

Our next hotel stay will be in March, so perfect timing...
