Snow White Grotto Dwarf Figures

I was wondering about the dwarf figures in the grotto. Seems like at least some of them appear "newer" to me. They don't look like 50+ year-old marble. So do you think facsimiles have been created? Or maybe the originals got rehabbed? Like maybe they were sanded down (or whatever you do to marble) and then re-coated?

Same old figures! They get a good scrubbed down cleaning every once in a while.

Those are reproductions. The originals started to get wear from the elements and they make duplicates and the originals are at WDI in Glendale now.

Yes, they are "retired" at Imagineering. They are made of marble and the weather was getting the best of them. We were able to see them on the Adventures By Disney Backstage Magic Tour. (There is a great story behind them too!) They are within a room where they store their maquettes (or pre-molds). Everything is stored within a case. The Snow White figures where set so that the group can have their picture with them. If you can take this tour, do it! It's the most special behind-the-scenes Disney experience.

The "official" first one, I assume. The dress rehearsal you are talking about was for Cast Members working on the tour as opposed to really-for-real guests, correct?
