The whole point of the new and old threads is to compare how good the attraction was back then, and compared to now. Lets face it, Paradise Pier sucked from the start and it could go no where but uphill.
Carney attractions don't belong in a Disney theme park. I certainly don't like the way Paradise Pier was when DCA opened, and it's still going to be stuck with a roller coaster that looks like a roller coaster and a ferris wheel disguised as a ferris wheel. Not much of an improvement on a bad idea, to begin with.
It will almost certainly be an improvement. But it will still be utterly inappropriate to a Disney theme park, because it will still try to emulate the less refined, less evolved, less perfected kinds of parks that existed before Disneyland. Lack of theme is not a valid theme, even when it's a clean, pretty, historical lack of theme.
