Re: Golden Dreams Official last show on March 22

Will this showing be open to guests as well? Or is it a private event/CM-only showing?

Are the shows in Epcot perfect at portraying history through non-rose-colored glasses? Not exactly, so I'm not getting your point. Golden Dreams was about as "PC" as any of the shows in Epcot, if not less so for its portrayal of minorities' struggles in the state.

Currently I am working on producing and directing movies, and am about to release one in the coming months, and I have to disagree with you and say that no other movie has really had such a lasting impact on me then Golden Dreams.

It was a must see for every visit, and its a shame that you really can't appreciate it for what it is, a beautiful motion picture. Regardless of wether or not it was made during the Eisner Era, it is beautiful and flawless.

They'd probably do a show focused on a civil war soldier getting his photo taken by Matthew Brady. After that, you would hear Lincoln talk to you in headphones, and then see him give the Gettysburg Address. It would be a tasteful show, though some people would argue that the headphones are gimmicky.

That's probably what the show would have been like if they had redone it in 2001, the same year that Golden Dreams opened.

My sister's students will see the film when we go in May as part of the "California, Here I Come" educational program. They told her they weren't sure where we would go to see it since but it will be part of the experience. She talked to them just a couple days ago.

I still think the inclusion of the Rodney King beating in the film was classic.

ON D23, it says the last day of performance is for the cm's, no words about guests.

They should really allow guests to get one last viewing of the show. to give it the final farewell

Here's the blurb from the D23 website, from the "Twilight Bark" section:

    03.18.09 Golden Farewell
Golden Dream, one of the original attractions at Disney's California Adventure, is closing to make way for a brand-new attraction themed after The Little Mermaid. The final showing will take place at a special event for Cast Members on March 22.

It says a special event for Cast Members. So I guess it's safe to assume that will be closed to park guests.

Maybe it will open up when about 7 CMs show up for the event.
