The last show of Golden Dreams will take place on March 22 for the cast members who work there. I'm guessing that construction for the Little Mermaid attraction will start soon then seeing as they will no longer show showings to school field trips.

Poor Cast Members. Will they get paid extra to endure that cruel and unusual punishment?

Oh come on.
This is Disney.
Where they created shows like The American Adventure ...
and all the show ever amounted up to be .. was a simple FILM show.
With a total of two effects - The Califia face projection .. and the "pixie dust" effect against the curtain.
They could put the show out on DVD .. and nobody is really going to miss anything lost in just viewing it on their tv screens.
The history shows in EPCOT are a thousand times better than the crap show they put in DCA in the era when Eisner and co were more concerned about not offending anyone and not getting sued than actually educating park guests.
I shutter to see what would've happened to Lincoln if Eisner was still calling the shots when they returned the show.
please its better if you watch the whole history of california on the history channel. But i did enjoy watching golden dreams last year before it closed and I like the song when it ends.
At least the Cast Members aren't watchinig Golden Screams...
"You are watching FOX"
I personally didnt mind the edit of the explosion... I mean seriously who wants a child to see people get blown up at a disney park? and just because it was a film doesnt make it any less important... and how was it PC??? it showed discrimination of minorities in alot of the scenes! indians used as slaves, chinese as cheap labor and people could still tell they were killed, the oppression of the japanese, discrimination of the mexicans... SERIOUSLY! how was that PC?!
and you are saying that Disney made up all the historical significances of each scene? Golden Dreams showed the true spirit and the hardships endured by the people of this state... it may be 1 in a country of 50 but the events played out in its history have affected the rest of the nation. And I truly feel that the film showed that.

When I went to the last showing of California Dreams, I "complained" that I like the show and hate to see if leave, and the CMs said it was being released on DVD next year... which is now this year, Possibly only to educators. I have a lot of friends that are teachers, so hopefully if it is released to educators they can get me a copy. (=3
Yeah, I didn't mind the show and am a little saddened by its ultimate demise.
Oh well, bring on TLM!
