Feed the Birds played on Main Street Loop?
As far as I know, I have never heard it in recent years, and have no evidence a arrangement of it ever was included...but my question is, given how much Walt loved the song, why not? I can understand that it wouldn't necessarily fit the early in the day ragtime/showtunes as well, but hearing it after dark from time to time I think might be nice, if arranged a little more in style with the Main Street loops. What do you think? Would it suit Main Street, and if not, where could they play it in the current park? I believe it to be in the Club 33 tracks, if I remember correctly, but it would be nice having it somewhere the general park crowds (though most wouldn't recognize it) were able to hear.
Your thoughts?

Because the title of the song was a liability. ;)
If people recognized the song's name, and fed a bird, and the bird died from that food, someone would sue, because their child had to have 6 years of counseling for seeing a dead bird.

You CAN hear it on Main St.! Just ask 'Ragtime' Michael Pollock to play it for you. He does a truly beautiful version. That's him with my family in my 'avatar.'
Re: Feed the Birds played on Main Street Loop?
It really would not fit with the other songs that play in the loop. They are meant to convey the turn-of-the-century main street America theme. Plus the tune is is rather wistful and probably not all that conducive to the "happiest place on earth"
I have a great fondness for the song, as well.

They might have played it in the Disney Gallery, also. So when the Disney Gallery opens in the old bank building, it might be appropriate in there.

I agree that the song is a little wistful for afternoon on Main Street, when you want that peppy rag-time, but I think it WOULD fit in after dark.
The right arrangement would compliment that sentimental feeling you want when you make that last slow stroll down Main Street.
Love the song, love the idea. And I'll definately request it next time I see Michael Pollock, thanks for the info!

^That, and the fact that it is in a movie set in turn-of-the-century England, not turn-of-the-century U.S.A.
Re: Feed the Birds played on Main Street Loop?
Agreed on not being appropriate for the daytime tracks, as my OP said :) It would stick way out. I was thinking of something like playing it just subtly, in the last hour when Main Street is open...something for observant people to notice, and over quickly. I would love hearing it at least....folks are right there, it wouldn't hold up just being playing right in the mix in the middle of the day with the ragtime/showtunes.

I agree with Snorklets. Wrong time period. Although...most of those tunes are from musicals that were written in the mid 20th century, but the tunes DEPICT an earlier time. I don't think it would fit.
Maybe out in the esplande....
