Talking Toy Story Mania Guide

Since I'm not really the best anymore...I figured, why not share the love? And...all of the guides out there are inaccurate...I guarantee that.

The guide to breaking 400,000 and 500,000 and guaranteed to get on the scoreboard.

(If you are an advanced maniac, you must sit by yourself)

Round 1:

Hamm and Eggs:

Hit the gophers on the bottom and combine that with the fox on the hen house. Then, hit the two pigs on the fence to reveal a cat and hit that. It could pop up in the middle or close to the barn. The point value for the cat goes to 500,1000,2000,2000,2000.

At the end of this game, your ideal score is 40,000. A perfect score would be 45,000.

For 500,000: A perfect score would be 57,000.

Balloon Pop:

Hit the 500's at the bottom and the 1000 lamb in the middle of the screen. To make the balloons respawn, hit one of the green or blue 100 point lambs. Now, for the two rainclouds, clear 4 on each side and leave one remaining. Then take a breath, shoot one and QUICKLY pivot to the other. You only have half a second to hit the other one. If successful, 2000 point balloons will rain!

An ideal game score is around 50,000. A perfect score would be 60,000+ Overall score should be 100,000+ after the balloons.

For 500,000, a perfect score is around 65,000.

Army Men plates:

Hit the plates all over the screen. Two 2000 point plates will pop up on both sides of the horizon. Aim at the horizon line for one plate, then when you hit it, quickly pivot to the other side. Once this is done, the mountain will descend and 4 2000 point plates will jump up in succession. Sort of like a wave. After this is done, hit all the plates and the plate that the tank throws at you. You should accumulate 61,000 in this game. An ideal score for this game is 70,000. A perfect score would be 80,000. If your overall score is 160,000+, you're in good shape.

For 500,000, your score should be at 200,000+

Ring Toss:

Crunch time:

Before the game starts, start pulling as fast as you can and make sure you aim at the aliens in the rocket. This will require practice. If an alien pops back up from the ship, it's over. But, if you hit the secret, the rocket will fly up and will reveal a gigantobot. It will pop up with 100,500,1000 and 2000. Try not to shoot inside the 100 point range. While the mouth is closed, hit the bottom targets on your screen. Planets, rockets, jetpacks and the 5000 point alien.

At the end, your ideal score should be 90,000. A perfect score would be 125,000. I've managed to hit 122,500. After this game, overall score should be 250,000+

For 500,000 your score must be 310,000 or above.

Bullseye:

It is possible to unlock the secret by yourself. I recommend clearing the middle first, then the bottom gopher, then the two buildings, then the barrel, then the remainders. This will require practice also. I've managed to score 52,000. The ideal score is 40,000. A perfect score is 60,000.

In the end, your score should be 300,000+

For 500,000; your score should be around 360,000

Side Scrolling:

Hit the two 500's, it will reveal a 2000. repeat as you are scrolling across.

Mine carts:

Hit all the mine carts. Keep the pivot movement slow and fire rapidly. But make sure your gun stays on the same horizontal axis and don't move it vertically. Then, the huge target will pop up...rapid fire!

After all that mania is over, hopefully you hit 400,000, or 500,000!

Have fun!

Re: Toy Story Mania Guide

Hello! I made a guide for TSMM back in June when it first opened. I was the first high score of the month winner for WDW, for the month of May 2008. I currently hold the monthly high score this month, at 362,900.

I believe that it is easier to get a higher score at Disneyland Resort, but I am not sure why. I have not seen anyone break 400k at WDW, though at DLR, it is a common occurence.

Re: Toy Story Mania Guide

BCC, i applaud you for doing this. I have been meaning to do this myself, but on a greater scales, with pictures and detailed info in the queue area of the actual ride, releasing the info to the masses. Why, because I know top scorers don;t want regular joes to know this info. I've heard them in the single rider line, giving tips to families on how just shooting as fast as you can will get you a big score. You know, revelaling the obvious secrets and not the specfic ones mentioned here on this great topic.

Anyways here are some tips i've picked up. Yes, if you want to get the big scores (400,000+), YOU MUST RIDE ALONE! Why, because normal guests who don't know what they are doing will follow the conventional wisdom of shooting at anything and everything that moves as fast as they can. So many projectiles not only get you confused in the heat of the moment, but on occasion mess up those chain reactions you were so delicatly creating. I've seen players who score close to 500,000 and over, score only 325,000, or 245,000 riding with someone. Yup, it makes that much of a diffrence.

Next, shooting. Everyone has their methods, but if you get tired at all, you're doing it wrong. You need all your strength to endure these games, especially the last target in the mine cart finale. So instead of using a lot of arm, use fingers only. Put the string in between your index and middle finger, with the ball kinda in your fist. If you tighten your fist, like your going to pop somebody, it should pull more than enough to here that click from your canon. Now here's where you come in, you have to go in and find that sweet spot. Kinda like finding that sweet spot on the clutch of a manual car, you need to see the lowest amount of closing your fist to here the click and release slightly so you can do it again and in rapid motions.

Ha ha, tip of the ice burg here.

If you have ridden the attraction before, the practice round is useless. I just sit there and wait for the Hamm and Eggs game. I've ridden so many times on single rider where the person next to me asks "why aren't you shooting?", to which i reply as a joke " oh, its my first time, i didn't know you're suppose to shoot things". They don't believe me at the end of the ride when my score is much higher than theirs, but hopefully this guide will even things up.

Now rapid fire is good and bad. Bad when your just doing it, good when you are focused on certain areas. Create imaginiary tracks to follow with your cannon to shoot. An example would be the first game, start with the fox at the hen house at the corner, then move to the gophers and the squirrle at the edge, return and hit those two pigs right above the hen house, by that time those high scoring chickens should be popping out, along with more gophers to hit along your eliptical track, coming back that cat should be there along with more pigs and, you get the idea.

Next, make things easy on yourself. Tackle those hard to reach targets first and the ones you can hit in your sleep last. The balloon rain clouds, shoot four of the five balloons on the cloud closest to you, leaving the super eay one by itself. Now go to the other cloud furthest from you. Pop all of them and when you know you are going to get the last one on that cloud, come back and hit that easy cloud you left for yourself. You can easily see how by riding with someone, this could've been thwarted. Same goes with the aliens to make the robot appear. Start with the ones on the top first and then leave the bottoms ones last, hard to easy.

Last thing, I've heard people comment that they will study up this guide so they can achieve Midway Mainia greatness. Don't be fooled. Just like reading on something for years like playing an instrument, driving, or swimming, you willget an idea of sorts, but you must put the time and the effort to actually practice the real thing. ANd trust me, this will need some practice. I don't want to get people's hopes high, because i was once like this. I had the knowledge going in and only came out with 150,000 points my first several rides. This is more than what i learned, but there needs to be some sort of prctice to apply the knowledge. Good luck to all of you, i wish to see your scores on the top three soon, and remember, if you're not having fun, you're doing wrong.

By experience Been a hardcore TSMM player since its opening. I am one of the high scorers that XenoSoldier mentioned and I don't particularly like releasing this kinda strategy. But, the more people in the competition the better.

BTW, XENO, what's your highest?

And Pseybert: Thank you for creating your guide! It helped me achieve all the high scores! Eventually, I because the first guest to break 400,000. Thank you again! (I meant no offense to inaccuracies...)

Re: Toy Story Mania Guide

BCC, thank you so much for posting this!

Now I can finally break 200,000 hopefully (I'm getting tired of always getting the cat at the end)

For the mine carts, do you not go for the bats?

No problem, but I'm still confused as to why DCA scores are generally higher. I'm beginning to think that you guys have slightly longer game times over there, which would explain the 50,000 swings in points.

Also, why do you think it is better to play alone? Wouldn't it be easier to play with someone who helps you unlock all of the secrets faster, and lets you hit all of the top points? When playing Woody's Round up at WDW, a solo player would have about 1 second of play time left after unlocking the bonus to play.

I completely disagree that it is a waste of time to play the practice round. This gives you a good idea of how your gun is calibrated. Many times I have had a gun that shoots wide left or right, and the practice round got me used to it.

Re: Toy Story Mania Guide

i normally get around 250000-300000 with a partner just because during the alien ship part its a pain in the *** to get by your self. all during the balloon pop part on the clouds i think its easier as well just cause you dont have to be crazy fast to hit the to balloons within seconds of each other. however i will deffinately try doing the ride solo to see whats up. ALSO some1 should make a BLAB guide. its a very simple guide as well. hit the triangles then the diamonds then the squares then the circles. hit targets that are lighted for double. dont stop shooting every 5-10 trigger pulls gets you like 100 points wethere you hit a target or not. n finally hit zerg in the chest to get like 50000-100000 points.

BCC, thanks for starting this guide and for sharing your knowledge. And Xenosoldier108, thanks for your contributions too! This is why I like the internet...for sharing of knowledge. I usually score around 205K, so maybe I can work on improving that with these strategies and tips. Woot woot!
