Mk. VII Orange

Monorail Orange on the beam today (3/27)! Not much time... I'll just post the pics. Enjoy :oD

There you go! They aren't the best quality (I ain't a photographer haha), but its the first I've seen of it. It looks red from far off... I mistook it for MVII Red when I first saw it while driving down Harbor Blvd. It's a nice train, but I'm still partial to Blue. But that's just me. :oD

Thanks for the photos! Very nice!

Can't wait to see it in person and see the color changing effect on this one.

Great to see progress!

Re: Mk. VII Orange

There wasn't much of a color change in my opinion. And the windows were the same as they were with the original Mk. VII Red model. No progress there... I think that Orange is the most plain in terms of color schemes. It doesn't jump out like the others do. Its still good to see it up on the beam and about.

Re: Mk. VII Orange

Yeah, I don't know about the color. It looks too much like red.

Maybe they should have tried yellow? Will purple look too much like blue?

Your second photo shows a pretty nice orange/red thing going on on the right side!

Hmmm, look red to me still. I guess it is the lighting.

Re: Mk. VII Orange

Does look more into the red spectrum in the pictures. But no matter what color if they can get it up and running and carrying passengers before the summer crowds hit all the better.

Of course, if they don't have the window modifications it won't matter because as soon as the temps hit about 85 degrees they won't be running anyway.

Re: Mk. VII Orange

I was hoping it would be more golden and yellowy orange than red orange. oh well! it's more important that they figure out the windows and ventilation asap.

Re: Mk. VII Orange

Yeesh, we should all know that the colors on digital cameras can be off depending on their white balance. Case in point, all of the pictures of the Paradise Pier sign show up orange when people have said it is a true red.

I think it looks fantastic in the pics, but I will withhold my true judgment until I see it in person.

Yea, that's true, and I was only using a Canon point-and-shoot... I like to say I take better pics than the average tourist going around taking pics w/ the same type of camera, but idk if its true or not. You really do need to see it in person... like MickeyMaxx said earlier, there IS a change from redish back to orange... but to me, it seems that its based on distance. If you're far away, it looks like a cherry to dark red (as I mistook it at first for Red as it cruised by Harbor), and when you're up close you see the true orange come out. IMO, if you look at Orange, then see Red right after, Red looks like it has alot deeper shade of red than I previously thought. The color scheme on Red seems more appropriate and nice-looking, while Orange's orange and blue scheme seems like it lacks a degree of, what's the word I'm looking for.... elegance, I suppose. It's like the little brother of two older brothers, if I may use that analogy. Blue is still the best hehe.

Re: Mk. VII Orange

I agree that Blue is the best but I like Orange better than Red.
