Peter Pan Scheduled for Refurbishment?!? (Merged)

I posted this on the Disneyland project tracker, but no one seemed to take notice. Just drawing a little more attention to it and seeing if anyone can find out any news.

I was checking the Disneyland calendar and noticed that for May 4 till the end of the schedule that is currently posted they had Peter Pan listed as closed for a refurbishment.

Calendar

Peter Pan closed for refurbishment starting May 4, 2009 till June 7th

Anyone know what this is about? Probably a fresh coat of paint or something small, I don't know?

well. All attractions need some down time to get things fixed that a lot of people may not notice. One thing would hopefully not be such an obvious screen where Peter Pan is shown on the wall.

Also is the broken pieces on the chimney that is right before you enter the Darling's house.

And Peter's arm, while fighting Cpt. Hook, is not so great looking. The Neverland island is also not up-to-snuff. Basically, it needs it. I don't remember it ever being down for the past few years. That's too long w/o a refurb, IMO.

I know you want to make the most of your trip, and I hope you have a great time. But...
You know, you can call Disneyland directly and ask questions. Go ahead, make a whole list and call. They're there to help.
So maybe cut down a little on the posting and re-posting and asking MCers to do your research for you. Everyone is happy to help, but be considerate.

Snorklets.. I do appreciate you trying to keep this message board / forum / micechat community whatever you want to call it nice and "flooded message free".

However, this post really has nothing to do about my trip as I posted it as "news" rather than a question. In my search of things for my honeymoon, I've come acrossed a lot of Disneyland tidbits that aren't questions designed for my honeymoon but rather for Micechatters enlightenment.
Such posts have been including my Pig N Whistle $5 for a $25 coupon find, my interactive Disneyland / DCA maps on youtube find, most recently my discovery of someone claiming to moon people from the the DL railroad as well as a good many others.

I also have helped a relatively new micechatter locate the Corn Dog Castle in DCA. It's funny I've never been to Disneyland, but now I know more than 90% of the guests who have been a couple times on vacation do, so I wish to contribute and not just please for information.

I discovered Peter Pan is getting a refurb and I wished to share it with everyone. As for my other recent post on getting wet on splash mountain; it really doesn't have a whole ton to do with my trip I just figured it would be something neat to discuss.

I back up Yackerz for posting this, because people like me don't view a 100 page thread.

haha I agree.. I rarely do too. The only reason why I decided to read the 100 page thread is because I found something that I think was worthwhile to post in the 100 page thread and discovered no one else had mentioned it.

haha... Well the current disneyland schedule goes to may the 9th and it is still listed as undergoing refurbishment then. It will be down at least 5 days. Calendar

Unless they have a lot of trash bags to change...

This is a really condescending post, you see this a lot on this website for some reason.

I'm sure it won't be extensive, seeing as the refurb starts just before the busy summer season. This refurb will probably just be some touching up, as others have said.

This kind of response is the reason why I left the first time and didn't return for more than a year. Give the guy a break; I think the posting is valid in every sense. Plus why call DL if another member can answer it while others are posting their opinions on the "NEWS".

omg!

YACKERZ - GREAT NEWS AND THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW. You keep asking and or posting those news comments.
