Why isn't there a Mickey and Friends darkride?

They should at least make one in Toontown.

I think it's a fantastic idea, especially in Toontown, if there's room to do it justice there!

I'm definitely with you on this one. It's Mickey's park, after all.

Sometimes the most obvious ideas are never seen.

From just about all the ride ideas I've seen on this board, this is the best.

well, the lion king e-ticket was up there too.

but a mickey and friends ride.... wow. That would actually get me in Toon town.

Here's a question: how do you do it justice?

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

I'm with Morrigoon, exactly what storyline would you have the darkride follow and how do you do it well enough so that it detract from the characters themselves.

Re: Why isn't there a Mickey and Friends darkride?

I just don't see it happening. Obviously Toontown would be the perfect fit, but frankly I don't know what storyline you'd use and a darkride much like the rides in Fantasyland would just not do. No E-ticket would be appropriate for the theme. I bet the idea has been tossed around at WDI but I can't think of any way to convey those characters through a ride that lives up to their importance. Mickey himself doesn't seem to appear very often in the park (not counting merchandise and hidden Mickey's). He's on the partners statue and his house is in Toontown. Am I wrong, is he other places too? If the only places you find him are in the statue and at his house, then creating a ride based off of him and the fab five would be extremely difficult creatively speaking. Something with as much importance as the characters themselves.

Mickey's Philarmagic uses a lot of characters, and you see them the way they are supposed to be, on film and living and breathing characters.

If someone has a good idea for how to do it I can maybe see it, but I'm not suprised it hasn't happened yet.

Re: Why isn't there a Mickey and Friends darkride?

I'm agreeing with Anders (who agrees with Morrigoon) on this one. It's kind of like the challenge with making a 'Simpsons' movie. What should it be about? AND How do you do it right? But since a 'Simpsons' movie is being made...

Maybe it could be a ride that could be altered. Let's say it's about Mickey and Friends perparing for Xmas in December, or Thansgiving in November, Halloween in Oct etc. If a ride can be altered like HM and IASW for the seasons, then this could be too.

Of course, there would need to be a storyline throughout... It could be anything...
