I'll admit right up that I haven't seen it in person, only pictures. I have to say that I do no have high hopes of my opinion for when I do see it. It looks too WDW. No offense to WDW, but this parade is not Disney standard. It is a filler parade. I'll echo what was said on MiceAge, the performers look like they are giving it their all and doing an excellent job. I just don't think this style of parade belongs at Disneyland. It's not the classy, gorgeous kind of things that is deserved here. These, as I said, are my feelings without having seen it yet.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
At the same time, I am disappointed that Disneyland doesn't have a traditional parade too. As stitchon posted in another thread, Celebrate was supposed to be an accompaniment to the existing parade at DL. When the recession hit, POD, and other entertainment, became casualties. I'm not happy about that, but I enjoy Celebrate for what it is.
I've seen and I didn't hate it, but I wasn't impressed by it either. There have been parades that impressed me, this left me feeling completely neutral.
I do see some things that could, and should, be improved. The sound needs to be fine-tuned so the DJs don’t drown each other out. And they must improve the flow of traffic around the stops. Another problem is that the show is at street level and difficult to see beyond the first two rows of guests and I felt I was being pushed by the people behind me trying to see the dancers, but I don’t see how that can be changed.
Seen it and I DON'T like it.
I already seen it a couple of times and I get the same feeling it wasn't worth guests money. This seems like a cheap DCA parade format.
Hey, if you want a real parade go to DCA to watch Pixar Play Parade.
